Help when libido completely disappears.

Options
I'm sure this has been covered in many different areas on these forums. But, i'm new to the site, and I'm having difficulty finding real solutions. Diag 2009, Stage I, no nodes, E+, P+.  Radiation, no chemo.  DX testing showed low chance of recurrence. Onco put me on Arimidex.  SE are hot flashes, depression, and a non-existent libido. My husband has been faithfully by my side for 3 years.  I have no desire to be touched or to touch him. I don't know how long he can live a married life like this (we're in our 50's).

Stopped effexor because of the numbness of mind and spirit. Started BHRT prog. and test. in 2011(onco threw a fit about the prog. - said it would fuel any remaining cells - primary physican said it was ok).  Moderated the hot flashes, but still no desire.  Help.

EJD, you are certainly right about how often loss of libido is discussed on these forums, and we're sorry that you've had to join the conversation (but glad you found us!).

As well as the support you'll find from other members when they post to add their own experiences, the main Breastcancer.org site has information that may be helpful, starting with the Loss of Libido article.

    Kayb,

Thanks for the information.  I tried Estriol suppositories, but had too much discomfort with them.

I found some stuff online about DHEA. There isn't a study near me. It appears you can get it OTC, but I'm not sure about it. Has something to do with estrogen. I couldn't copy and paste

I use a little dab of coconut oil. use it everywhere now. cept in cooking lol

I'm taking Femara and it hasn't affected libido for me. Perhaps you could try a different AI.
