Need Advice About Surgery

Hello, Everyone!

I finally got some answers about my constant shoulder pain in my node arm.  It seems that I have a "hooked acromion", and this hook is what has kept the rotator cuff tendons inflamed.  This pain started right after my BMX and rads three years ago.

After four cortisone shots in my shoulder and learning which physical therapy stretches/excercises NOT to do, I'm so much better that I'm not quite on board with my doctor's advice to have surgery to get rid of the hook.

However, if I decide to do it, I have to choose between arthroscopic surgery and the full-on big incision surgery.  My gut feeling is that the arthroscope (I *think* there will be three entry points, but I'm not positive about that) would be less trauma to my arm and therefore better for avoiding LE, but I thought I'd better check with you ladies before making the decision.

The shoulder in question is the one on my cancer side.  I had two nodes removed, and I don't have LE.  Sometimes I feel like I get mild truncal swelling if I've done a lot of crocheting, but it goes away pretty quickly.

Any input at all will be greatly appreciated.  Thank you!
