radiation therapy

Options

I am about to start radiation therapy and I would like some ideas on how to save my skin from drying out.  I know about the aloe vera, any other ideas?

    Hi Catscheese,

I used Udderly Smooth (cream originally for cow udders, yikes) every morning and every night.  My skin is very sensitive and eventually was pretty badly burned but my skin came back looking and feeling totally normal within a short time.  I am going to have to go through radiation again after chemo and I already bought some Udderly Smooth to use it before I start.  I didn't like aloe 'cause it felt sticky to me.

I started with 100% aloe vera (recommended by rad onc), but several weeks into the process learned about Emu Oil from another patient with very fair skin (mine is more olive) who was using that.  I switched and was extremely happy with my results.     Deanna

Hi, thanks for your comments.  I am looking into a few options I've read about online.  I will let you know how it works. Lucy
