I found this great online mindfulness meditation site-  getsomeheadspace.com  It's run by a  british guy who was a buddist monk for 10 yrs, and who now teaches mindfulness. He's young, personable, not weird and walks you thru each meditation.

I've never had the patience to meditate, but I'm doing it. It helped me accept the stiffness, joint pain and feeling of a suddenly aged body- I had been arguing w my oncologist about cutting dose of tam in half, it was making me feel so lousy. Now, when I have pain or stiffness, I realize it comes and goes, and don't obsess about it-and it's not such a big deal. Also helps w worry about recurrence.

First 10 days free, then they offered 3 free mos if I signed on for a yr and it ended costing $75 for the yr. They have a charitable foundation and I can email to see if they'll give bc.org members a discount. I have no connection w the organization/site. Just think it's a fabulous resource, life-changing.

asmd - I participated in a research study for BC patients exiting surgery/chemo/rads, usually the time recurrence fears start cranking up, to look at stress hormones and whether they can be affected by meditation and stress reduction techniques.  It was conducted by the University of S. Florida School of Nursing and Moffitt Cancer Center and titled Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction. We gave blood and saliva samples, then took 6 weeks of meditation classes - both formal and informal, walking and sitting meditation was taught and we had periodic blood and saliva samples taken throughout.  I derived enormous benefit from these classes and continue with the practice - it allowed me to be able to release what I can't control and live much more in the moment, not worry about the past or the future.  I am glad you have found a good resource - I really recommend this, it has helped me a lot.

It is still ongoing and actively recruiting.  I was approximately the 300th participant and I believe that they were aiming for about 400 total.  I was just contacted by one of the coordinators and asked if I would consent to genetic testing of the blood samples, apparently they are adding this as an additional facet of the study.  Here are a couple of links with more info:
