Confused....detached partner :(

My partner of almost six yrs was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer. And it has spreaded to her lungs and currently in the hospital. We now live in seperate homes. The problem is I dont know to adjust to this lifestyle change. When I made it to the hospital we didnt talk and just watched television. The visit lasted 20 mins and my partner asked if I could come back later so I left and hasnt visited sence I fell like shes pushing me away .Her family does not care for me so there is no communication on her condition withme no more than what my partner tells me . I know this is physically and mentally painful for her but emotional its very hard for me . Anyone have any suggestions on how I could be supportive through all this ?
