MRI - rapid uptake delayed washout?

Options

After some worrisome issues of thickening scar tissue in my previously cancerous breast, my onc ordered an MRI. He called to tell me that it went "pretty good". The thickening tissue was just that but they found a tiny spot in my other breast. It showed "rapid uptake and delayed washout" but its only 2mm so we're going to watch it and have another MRI in 6 months. From what I've read, this type of enhancement is indicative of invasive cancer. The spot is near my chest wall and i can find no info about this location. Has anyone else had this? Same enhancement or location? Seems so small but all bleeping cancer starts small doesnt it! MRI scheduled for late October but its looming in my mind...

I had this. The delayed washout is a good thing. When the dye gets taken up fast and washed out fast it is more likely cancer. In my case we biopsied 5 spots showing delayed washout kinetics and they were all benign. I know how nerve wracking it is! MRI does bring a lot of false positives, but it is a very important tool for us.

Oh thank you Beacon800! I know that it could go either way. But i thought the delayed washout was the worst one. Thanks for your comments.
