Home repair question
Since I started chemo last summer, I let a number of important home maintenance issues slip through the cracks. Now that I am done, I am noticing a lot of critical problems that I need to address.
Most of them, like re-roofing the front porch - are easy and should go quickly. I do have one problem, though, that I can't seem to resolve. It involves the bathroom ... particularly the mirror. Seems since I started chemo, the mirror has, somehow, been damaged. How else can explain the fact that whenever I look into it, there's this really old dude looking back at me?
Should I replace the mirror?

That should be the first on your list of repairs.....

You made me chuckle - thanks! Once when I came out of a store I saw a sad, frumpy looking woman looking at me. It took a few seconds to realize it was a mirror and that sad woman was me.

don't replace, I have same problem with mine, cept I see old lady. was thinking of putting sheet over it.

Oh don't worry about that old guy....he's harmless. His wife visited me for awhile. They only take up residence for awhile, don't eat much, don't say much, and before you know....they're gone!!
Thanks for the smile

Funny, Charles, my mirror started to give me problems even before my dx. Then I figured it out - there's this crazy old lady hiding out in my house, and every time I go to look in the mirror she jumps in front of me.
Lately she's started sneaking into my kitchen when I'm not there and tightening all the bottle lids....

What a sense of humour you have. And it's not just American mirrors that do this. We have the same type in Canada. I find it helps not to wear my glasses.
-
Hmmmmm I suggest putting on your sunglasses before looking in that mirror! Works for me! :-))

I have noticed that since chemo, I have never complained about the mirror getting steamed up when I take a shower. I just slip on my robe and try to get the hell out of there before the fog clears.

Charles,
Ha ha, I don't turn the light on in the bathroom so I don't have to see this scarred up, scared, white-haired (chemo-hair) woman staring back. Do you think I should remove my bathroom light altogether?

Put the mirror on the porch roof. Two problems solved at once.

In the morning, i don't go near any mirrors for awhile...then when i do approach "it", my eye's almost shut...i stand back also....then very, very slowly, i get closer and closer..well, that's when i bolt!
