I was 23 when I was diagnosed with DCIS (less than a month ago 7-30). I had a BMX on 8-8 and now am pursuing further treatment for some pesky isolated tumor cells in my lymphnodes. Most likely a combined therapy of hormone therapy plus chemo will be the way I go.

Hello! can anyone give me an advise how to deal with BC. I am 29 years old and i had been diagnosed for IDC stage 3 and having now my neo adjuvant chemo therapy.. Doctors suggested to do first the chemo to shrinken the tumor on my leaft breast 4 cycles before the surgery and another 4 cycles of chemo.. My chemo started last september 13 2012.. Chemo type given are doxorubicin & cyclophamide to treat the cancer. what i wonder because the doctors didn't advise me what food should i avoid or what should i take/eat? i am worried might the tumor wont work well with the chemo drug if am not aware on it? and please give me more help guys to get more better and beat the cancer..
Thank you & highly appreciated all you advice!

Alesha, I had chemo before surgery as well. Do ask your doctor if there are foods you should avoid, and don't take any herbal or vitamin supplements without checking with your doctor first.
My doctor told me to stay away from alcohol, because the chemo stresses the liver.
I did take probiotics all the way through chemo, with my doctor's blessing, and it greatly helped with both the thrush and the stomach issues.
Other than that, try to get enough protein and eat lots of veggies. Egg whites are a good way to add extra protein.
Which country are you in?

I'm 29, and was diagnosed just this July 2012. Still got a long road ahead! My double mastectomy set for the first week of Oct 2012.
It must be something in the water, chicken, beef, etc...just like LyndaH had posted.
