34 and just got diagnosed Aug 22, 2012 and have many concerns...

Hey everyone Im new here but love that this forum is avalible to me I have so many questions and concerns. First off I was just DX on Wednesday of this week. I have since meet everyone on my team of docs ectp the MO and that is gonna happen thursday next week. My doc says chemo first due to the type of cancer I have plus I am shooting for a lumpectomy or partial masectomy. I would love to here your opinions and stories of shinkage in size. Mine is around 6cm and my doc is confident it will shrink. I am torn due to reading many posts... some woman shrink but still get a full masectomy. Wondering if this is preference? I am beyond scared of the surgery part and dont want to make the wrong choice. Please help!

    Hi Amy, sorry to hear! This site has helped me so much....so many wonderful people. So chemo first because of the tumor size? Do you know if you have any nodes yet? I'm also stage 2b, finished chemo in December, I feel great now, almost 100%. I was scheduled for a lumpectomy but ended up with a segmental. Stay positive and chances are you'll be just fine!

    I was diagnosed with stage llb in November 2010. I was 37. I opted for a BMX due to my age, hormonal status and grade of tumor. It was a hard decision, but I would do it again. I did chemo and rads and just finished my 13th month of Tamoxifen. Your node status will be an important piece of the puzzle.
