Lemondrop... Prayers are being lifted for your Dad and all of your family. You know that I am close by. Please let me know if there is ANYTHING that I or my retired husband can help you out with. Do not hesitate to call and I mean that!

Karen, I tried to vote...hope it worked.  Thinking of you all this morning.  Hot again today.  Flunked my hearing test yesterday, but I knew I would.  Have a hole in my rt. ear that needs some work.....so will start there.  Haven't really had to do much since way back when so I can't complain.

Hope you all have a good day.

    Hugs, Jackie

Lemon, thoughts and prayers for you and your Dad.

Kjiberty, I voted for you. Hope you win!

I too an quite tall, and I also saw a study about the color of earwax, and another about hot flashes. The more hot flashes, the less likely you are to have bc. I've never had one, and I'm beyond the age to start now. Gold earwax versus gray color, and gold has more bc. Who thinks of these things, anyway?

OK my earwax is gold. My hot flashes during chemo were pretty minor and now not sure if I even get them. I'm 5' 6", had dense breast tissue, no kids… guess I was destined.

Smerf I still want to know how they think up all this reconstruction stuff. Stretching skin, moving butts to boobs, sliding back or tummy to breast, etc. Sorry but when I first started reading about all this it sounded like nasty experiments thought up by some evil Nazi doctor. Honestly that's what went though my head.

Lago see how our minds work I though of /frankenstein, putting parts together and yelling It's alive---I do know they have been doin research on our body parts for a long time as to what can be reused at different places of the body and since it's our own body there should be no rejection. And so any of our pieces can be reassigned to other areas. ooospooky

Drive-by post since I'm at work and waiting for lunch to arrive. Starving! Lol, as always.

Hopeful - Thinking of you and hoping your surgery went well. Also, hoping its your final one. I think it took me 7 recon surgeries before I finally said no more. I did have some complications, and my MX were done 5 years apart. Never let it be said that I go the simple route with anything!

Karen - Voted! Best of luck to you.

Lemondrop - My father went through 2 bypass surgeries and one angioplasty. Thankfully, he's doing fine and is as ornery as ever. It's so very frightening, but I'm sure he's in good hands. Wishing him and your family all the best.

lago ahd every one else---Lago my Dr. looked like Dougie Housers younger brother --I want to tossle his head--but I held back, but I did ask hime about puberty--How long ago was it?  And guess what? I have even more meds to take now--WTF, My pill holder won't snap down anymore and he did say say (as any young person would) wow u take a lot of meds--OK I said now let's keep adding and he did. Why not..and every question he asked e about when this started or that started my answer was always chemo--so I have officially blamed chemo for everything even my screwed up kidney and after he looked at how much chemo I had and stuff done--he said u'r right. hahaha. It was funny cuz I got hooked up to the whatever for the heart and the nurse said OMG u'r scar is beautiful, it's perfect and I said I know my surgeon always coplimented himself--that was silly And Dougie howser's brother got embarrassed, actually a couple of times with other things I said--as usual. But I'm done for this week--I go back for more stuff next week. Too bad cuz I don't like hospitals, to many sick people around.

camillegal Too funny. Thanks for that update. Sounds like you had fun. At least you know your cardo won't retire on you. I think mine are all going to start to fall like dominoes in the next few years.

BTW I've got a bone scan next Thursday if anyone is going to be at the "Big R"

Lemondrop healing thoughts are heading for you, your family, and especially your dad

Spunky if you PM me, I tell who NOT to use as a PCP.  I'm fleeing her (it's been 5 months since my diagnosis was reported to her and she hasn't found the time to do more than leave a single VM and failed to respond to mine back to her). I have 2-3 at Rush Oak Park I'm going to interview when all this is done, probably January.  I figure I'll use my MO as my PCP in case anything comes up during chemo seeing as dang near everything has to be reported to her anyway.

Made it through 2 of 6 today.  Pretty much the same as the first one, only faster, as promised.  I didn't put enough of the lidocaine goop on the port so i felt the needle go in, but it was about the same as getting a normal stick in the arm.  Still it's a lot more convenient than their constantly futzing with my miserable veins trying to keep the stuff flowing.  Here's hoping the SE are the same as last time; I can manage them with the portfolio of anti-emetics (better living through chemistry!).  I still haven't lost any hair.  Could I be the 1 in a million?  MO says no, but I'm hoping.

Lynn-haven't heard from my soon to be former PCP since the day she told me I had cancer and she started crying-I felt I had to tell her it was going to be ok...she also told me it was the size of a grain of rice, which it wasn't (not to mention the 5 additional spots including the other breast)-she apparently confused mm and cm, yup brilliant.

Lago, is your updated list for just those who would be available for lunches, etc?   I'm probably not going to make any of the Chicago area lunches but I'd like to remain on the original contact sheet for the thread and my info has not changed.  Thanks!

Hey better than my former gyno. She  had one of her lackeys leave a VM on my cell phone telling me I needed a biopsy. When I called back I told that someone would have to call me back. Then I found out some other doctor who I never met in the practice was the one that read the mammo/US report. And it gets worse. I did call after my biopsy and told the gal I was never coming back and no I don't want to speak to my gyno. She did call the next day and I ripped her a new one.  You know us east coast gals… We don't say "you suck" we tell you why you suck in the fewest words possible.  6 weeks later I get a CYA letter talking about our recent phone conversation and 2 copies of all my records. My BMX was scheduled the morning after I got it. Can you tell I will alway be ticked of at this woman.

If you want to read the review I wrote at 3am the morning after my biopsy (pretty much told I had cancer) here's the linky*.

*Go to the link above, then scroll to the bottom of the page.
Under the last review you see on the left in grey "13 filtered." click on that.
You'll be asked to put in a code to see the filtered reviews (all bad 1 star).

On a more positive note I just made some yummy healthy mushroom tomato cream sauce. Just saute a lot of button mushrooms with some onions. Add you tomato sauce (homemade or not). Instead of cream use Fage 0% fat yogurt to taste. Next time I'm also going to add a little spinach. DH loved it.
