Neratinib Clinical Trials

Hi Paty, I am so, so sorry to hear of your battle with this horrendous and insidious disease HER2+ and yes it seems that there are some new drugs and trials popping up in the bid to find the right combination weaponry to holt or slow down the EGFR from turning over, or as a Tyrosine-kinase-Inhibitor, is there any discussion about T-DM1 ! I hope that eventually they may find a way to Tag these mutant predator cells, so our own white-cell can do the job, if not better than any drug.
I am 1 week after finishing my 1 years drug trial Neratinib as a preventative purposes and am so over it, though currently having issues with constipation now "badly", I am about to contact the trial team to ask what is usually recommended to ladies after ceasing this trial drug ! I am mostly vegetarian and consider myself a healthy eater, with lots of water intake, but now I am day 4 with no-bowel movements, can any ladies out there share some suggestions ?
Thanks paty for posting, I wish that you have a good response to drug trials and chemo, keep in contact, take care and try to keep nourished, regards catherine

Paty, I am so sorry you are going through this again. I tried the Neratinib and I just could not take it. throwing up and D. It was from the very first dose and I took 5 days total but with a decrease in there someplace. I was real sick with the first chemo and slightly sick on Herceptin but I did make it through all that. I have heard there is a new Herceptin. I am not too sure about the difference. I think I read it in a magazine called Cure I got at the onco. clinic. I think you can access it on line too. I am looking at the address here and it says curetoday.com. I think you can research it there. I hope and pray there will be something to try for everyone. I wish you the best.

Kakacath and gramma thank you for your good wishes. Gramma I'm sorry you couldn't stay on the Neratinib. I have gone 5 days with no runs. My dr recommended a product called Banatrol. This is dried banana flakes with a prebiotic for gut health. You can get it on the Internet (not cheap, it's about a dollar a serving). I added more rice, applesauce and bananas in my diet and it seems to be working.
Kakacath I can't imagine that Neratinib actually constipated you! Have you tried colace and drink lots of water? You must be so happy to be done with the drugs! May you remain cancer free and enjoy everyday!
