Lost my mom/best friend
Im only 29, it's not fair! That's the only thing I can think of! I have a 3 yr old son who was so close to her and my daughter is almost 2 months and never got to bond with her. We just found out 4 weeks ago that the cancer had spread to her liver! She was doing well on xeloda for her bone mets. She has been battling this stupid disease for 7 years. She was only 54!! It's not fair!! We were so close! All my friends would say, I wish I had a mom like yours. She never complained and always had a smile! It hasn't even been a week since she passed yet and I miss her so much! I don't think there was a day in my life I didn't talk to her. She was the best grandma, mom, and person!

I am so sorry for you. Losing our mother's is terribly difficult and for your's to have been so young makes it even harder. It is very unfair. You are absolutely right. She sounded wonderful. You were very lucky to have had her and to have been so close. I'm sure she enjoyed your closeness enormously. There's not much I or anyone can say to help you at this time. I lost mine two years ago and it was hard. The first few weeks are such heavy times. I hope your friends will step in to help as much as they can. Try to focus on your kids and keeping yourself healthy, I am sure she would want you to do that. She clearly loved you very much.

Your mom was obviously a wonderful grandmother, mother, and friend. Our deepest sympathies go out to all those whose lives she touched.

I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my mom suddenly in May (heart attack, not BC) and it is the most awful feeling in the world. Sending hugs your way.{{{{ }}}}

So sorry to hear about your mom. She sounded like a wonderful woman. Keep these memories close and talk often of her so your children get to know their grandmother. Memories are a wonderful thing. You are right, it is not fair.

Mandapanda, I am so sorry for the loss of your dear mother. I can see that the pain is enormous.
Talk about her to your children and then they will feel like they know her. My great-grandmother passed away 2 years before I was born but I felt like I knew her through all the things my mother said.
May G-d send you comfort.

mandapanda: I'm so sorry to hear about the death of your Mom.
My sweet Momma died on 12/31/06 at the age of 72 and I was 50. She died from lung cancer. I still miss her terribly. The holidays are just not the same without her. What I can tell you is that I don't think it ever gets "better", you just learn how to handle it better.
My grands will never know her except through us and I know she would have loved to be right in the middle of them.
I am praying for you and your family, that God will grant you peace and that you remember all the fun and special times you had with her.
God bless you,
LaDonna

I am pregnant with a baby girl and this really touched me. I am so sad for your loss.
I hope you can take comfort in the time you did have with her and the memories y'all shared.
Cancer sucks. Hugs to you. -
My heart goes out to you. My mother just passed away last Sunday..it will be a week tomorrow. She also was battling cancer for seven years. We were told last month she had 12-14m. On August 11th, we had a family meeting and my mom told us that the doctor gave her three weeks. My mom worked up until August 10th. Her cancer also went to her liver and she was 54 years old as well. My heart is broken into a million pieces and I know I will never be the same. Everyone says time will heal but I don't buy it. She is my best friend. The only thing that comforts me is to know she isn't in pain anymore and she had a smile on her face when she passed. My daughter was the love of her life and only grandchild. We were three peas in a pod. My daughter hasn't really been hit with all of this yet and I'm worried about her. My dad gave my daughter my mom's pillow and I have her blanket. I sleep with it every night. My prayers go out to you and your family. I know the pain you feel. If you want to talk, I'm here. I know there are alot of people who really care but until you experience it, no one really understands the pain and anguish one has.
Here is something I wrote for my mom..
A face that is always on my mind,
A smile I have seen a million times,
Two eyes that would light up the sky at night,
One last battle you could not fight,
The day was long,
I knew that soon you would be gone,
I clasped your hand so warm in mine,
Soon we would be out of time,
To stay with us you fought so hard,
... A million pieces went my heart,
Now a photo I look at to see your smile,
I keep your number on my speed dial,
Voicemail messages to hear your voice,
This I do.... I have no choice.,
But great memories I will always keep with me,
Your love in my heart for eternity,
I told you I would never say goodbye,
To understand why, I can but try,
Waiting in heaven from this moment on,
'Till god asks you to bring me home....
I love you mom
