I went to family doctor today and told him about the oncologist. He demanded that I get another opinion. He agreed that the infection should be 100% cleared up. He agreed that the red devil gave me heart damage and not to do it again. He made sure that his nurses got in contact with another oncologist before I left. He wanted to know if I needed any pain killers or xanax. He's a keeper.

Veggy, have a thought about 2nd opinion. I know you changed MO's. Forget where you live. But if there are no more approved providers in your county, you can have your PCP write for request of 2nd opinion for out of network based on his evaluation of your treatment plan and his medical objections based on proceeding with treatment plan as presented by your MO.

Advantage---you can pick the institution you want the 2nd opinion at. Widens your options.

Disadvantage ---approval for out of network may require the name of the institution, so, researching who has had experience with your kind of BC would have to occur rapidly.

If you attempt out of network 2nd opinion without insurance approval, they usually, will not cover a dime. Even a opinion appoinment  for 2nd opinion review of treatment plan can be very expensive. If you do O-O-N, make sure you have  Autorization letter in hand to take to new institution. Call ahead to verify they have auth letter too.

Take all path reports, take MO notes re treatment plan from last visit, Take PCP letter and notes from this visit. EKG/Echocardiogram, Cardiologist summary note re:heart damage. All this should be faxed before hand by referring doc. But have a full set you can hand them at appointment without expecting to get anything back--meaning copy only not original---you likely know all this, but you know I am OCD. sassy

    Sas,

This would be my 3rd opinion. I liked what the second opinion but my chemo doctor does not agree. She wants to do the AC again. I want to find a doc around here tha  will do what my second opinion sugests. My second opinion doctor also asked another doc in that office what he would do and he agreed. So my second opinion could aso be my second and third opinion making this one my forth opinion. Confused? I am.

Sheesh guys I've been doing nursing work all day long since early am. Not complaining. It's nice to work the mind, but I'm such a terrible two finger typer, it'd take allot less time to do if I could type for real. Mom tried. I was registered in a summer class . I skipped more than I went b/c twin never skipped. I always had to do the opposite of her.

Dogeyed happy to have you back so know about computer withdrawal. When mine had the virus in June. I had physical symptoms for three days. Intentionally, did not get the new puter(as granny would say), until withdrawal symptoms were gone x number of days and then went puter shopping. Kind of disturbed me. Ahhh there's a search "computer addiction or dependance".--I think I'm back to the addiction.   I sent you that link by PM that I promised.

Fuzzy we are missing Nancy too. She's with her Dad. I'll try to call her.

Quick catch up - read everything.  Veggy - a ssecond opinion, and yes, the doc is a keeper.  But is it not scary that that onc could be suggesting and uiding other patient's to do red devil again and they don't know not to do so.

GG -welcome back, and yes, we will probably spend some nights in campgrounds and state parks in our Suburban.   But I hope mostly cabins and cottages.  We also are checking into a yert to take along and put up.

Gotta run hubby made me Rice Chex and peaches for supper - he's having eggs and toast - and he put milk on my cereal already, darn, sogginess of it........

Fuzzy--Bitch on Angie's List . In regard to nursing , Yes it goes to the core of my being. There was never a time I couldn't find something that I wanted to do for my patients. That's why I never got a break, got to go pee, no lunch break, and never got out on time lol.  Post from other day with that description and the story of when I pee'd my pants. lol.   I used to take two PB&J sandwiches for a 12(13-14) hr shift. Pin them to the bullentin board. The joke was , everyone could tell what kind of day I had if sandwiches were still there and I wasn't. The PB&J could be eaten on the fly.

    Who's on first, what's on second, I don't know's on third------I think

ESSA what's a yert? Florida on the path? I just put in new concrete that the parking is huge--huge room for 14-15 cars. Put a pad 45feet long x 10feet wide at side of house, some was existing added enough to make dimension right. Figured since I was spending that much money, add  to existing enough for bus rv. Good resale tool. But can't be used now b/c learned electric wires would have to be raised , but still room for 12 cars

A yurt is a portable, round, fabric or skin covered dwelling. Nomadic tribes carried them with them as the traveled to hunt. Genghis Kahn is one example, I think. They were originally covered in wool felt. Felting is the oldest fiber process known to mankind. Ancient armour was also made of felt. The more you beat the wool fibers the tighter the fibers connect, denser and denser. My DD worked for Tree People in the LosAngeles basin. Their offices were all in yurts in the edge of a forest in Beverly Hills. They advocated for healthy tree planting and maintenance in an area that was fast becoming deforested, Los Angeles. That is how I know about yurts. I know about felting because I took a class, with an artist, who did her work in huge felted pieces. Both pretty interesting I think.

Anyone ever been in a teepee?  I feel awesomeness in a teepee.  Portable, but not as insulated as a yurt can be.  I have not been in a yurt yet but will, am looking into these, but I do know of campgrounds in ME, PA, MI, that have yuts to stay in in stead of cabins.  It'sa new rage for people builing their new home, yurt living meantime, and people who are homeless even,  and travel if not moving too quickly.  I would use the wool felt for certain, not the new fiberglas deals.  And I would decorate mine inside and out to be like a huge luxurious vintage birdhouse hahaha.

Hubby is off today, selling our pool steps, going for breakie, auction and yard sale of something fun to find old magazines.

There is smoke on Whip-poor-will Hill at night, do not think it is woodburner, think the guy living in woods behind us gets cold and fills his woodsstove in the house, his smoke rises and is gone by morning, like he puts it out and goes to work.  It was 48 here last night and I had windows all open, yup, that's what I do, esp after all those missing moments of not being able to have a window open due to the OWB next door killing me off, so now I don't want to miss another minute in life without hearing the crickets and whip-poor-wioll and coyotes and all the sunrise birds, ever again.  But due to all the smoke guess I will have to close windows until sunrise since it does get smokey in here when cold outside, jusst hoping it is not an outside wood boiler furnace but think I know one of those fumey things and seems it was not.

Fuzzy, yes,Angie's list.  Plus you can find him in yelow pages, on Google, Yahoo etc etc, just do searches for him and follow all links then give him a reaaalyy good review.

Oregon parks have some yurts also. We stayed in one with DIL and DGS. Nice to be camping and able to stand up to get dressed. I'd be willing to live in one at least part-time.

It was cool enough here today to open windows. I only turned my air on to come to bed. It can be pretty noisy around here and I prefer not to deal with it.

This is gross but the other night I dreamed that I pooped a huge pile of poop, a whole grocery store bag of it. I imagine it might have to do with letting go of stuff since I have been selling do much stuff. My subconscious must consider my DVD collection to be crap. lol

fuzzy, I found the post re: a stellar day in nursing. It was from a conversation between Linda and I on Bonfires.

Linda yes toss in those nurses that don't have a clue what real nursing is, I could never understand how some nurses could spend so much time sitting in the station and i couldn't take time to pee. One time I absolutely wet my pants, had to have the nursing supervisor get me a pair of scrubs--well at least I got a break while waiting for the pants.

THE STELLAR DAY IN NURSING:ORIGINAL BY SAS-SHATZI

YOU GOT A BREAK, YOU GOT TO GO PEE, YOU GOT LUNCH, YOU GOT OUT ON TIME

Only happened a few times a year. Always wondered about those that got them all, but found out when I would change shifts and had to take their patients, if you get my drift..........

Linda I am so happy you totally understand what i am saying on the ADD/OCD  absolutely on mark with your description of the ER nurse. It's the same in OR, EMS, Surgical when it's 6 patients or more(5 was heaven).

Well the fire s a little hot with all those burning nurses, but we'll have a sweet fire then my friend

So in my dreams I am escaping from "something". I always get away, but it often involves me throwing myself out of the bed, thinking I will run. I have always had some version of this dream.

This is what is really happening.  I fall on my face because my feet are tangled in the covers, and I can't feel them due to neuropathy.

What does the dream of escaping mean?  For fun of course I wouldn't hold ya to it. :)

Memory shit - I have an Italian vase in w antique bird collection in hutch that I put some $$$ in when I sold on eBay.  I sold more stuff yesterday and went to put that in - which is all for my alternative choices - and found the other money I FORGOT was there.  Like I say, what is to become of us.  Hubby never did have memory and when I completely lost my memory a few years back, had to even relearn how to SPELL, we were sunk.  Now I remember stuff but forgeet stuff like this money thing, and perhaps I have a few bags of money shit hanging out around here, who knows.

That dream is quite interesting, Dunes. I have different ideas....

How is it you tell Pandora radio you want Michael Bolton and within 3 songs you are listening to the theme from Saturday Night Fever augh! So I tried The Main ingredient, R & B, cool beans

I want to change my bco name, I'll still be me, and not hiding.  I just want a fun name that I can laugh at myself and reflect who I am.  Am going to choose MADBLUEBIRD.  Mad Bluebird on Whip-poor-will Hill.  Cz the whip-poor-will keeps yelling all night when bluebird is trying to sleep, grouchy cranky bluebird.   Be right back.

PTdreamers I worry about you...... can't say verbatim but you said I miss not being  able to hear.  Sweetie , we are all here b/c we have lost something. When i went back through pages to find the links and I saw my postings in the time I couldn't see...and you all coped and helped. Some of my posts even when I thought i could see, were damn funny. I can't see, I can't hear. I can't smell which affects taste, got a spine that's screwed up, osteo caused by AI's, Lost boobs/ut/ovaries to BC.  Lost my career over a fucking brain tumor, just b/c it was there--causing no trouble, I was honest and told the fucking boss , thought it was the right thing to do---never worked a day since.

A stark loss of a sense that you have gone through, yes it hurts terribly. Any loss we grieve. But PTD you have so much to be joyful about. You are alive. You have a full ear that hears well. I'd feel blessed with that. This isn't meant to make you feel unthankful for what you have, you will grieve for awhile for the loss, nothing can change that. Work the problem until you find a solution.

Okay - I kept the Essa so you will still know me but see it is too long to see Essa on end, grrr. Used my coffee mug.

Granddaughter stayed over last night, we went to the lake coffee house for breakie, then to the Yellowstone Trail Rendezvous.

Fuzzy, stuff him in the bag of poop.

Sassy - can we list our bad docs and such on Angie's List?  Our lottos are Wed and Sat.  Indiana, and I forget what Michigan is since half and half there.

Grannydukes, dream class?  right up my interest, never took one but am sensitive and I don't like it on ebit, but somehow just know the inside line for so many dreams, I don't interpret anymore, only if there is a danger for someone where I am so compelled to do so. But my interprets are not the meanings by symbols which are also very real quite often.  Wouldn't it be nice for Dunes to find a bag of money on the sidewalk, no questions asked?  Dunes look out your window....

Now listening to Enye, and wow, I sound just like here when I sing, her or Cher, but I have to be singing through a toilet paper holder, try it sometime.
