I Come to the Garden...

Barbe, the funeral will be Sunday afternoon at 2:30. It is Baptist and it's the church where Bryan and his family were members as well as my son and his family.
Thanks for the suggestion, I believe that is a possibility about the nose hairs. I told him he could use my neti pot and rinse to see if that would help.
Thanks again!

Hair can hold on to smells. I think Barbe has a good idea.
I think having a funeral on a Sunday afternoon is a nice idea. The poeple who surrounded him in his church life will already be around. And it could be very supportive to Melissa.
-
I like the idea of a Sunday funeral too, as the engery of the church is in place, any extra is just bonus love. There's something still so special about Sundays, even though the malls don't think so.

Please continue to pray for my brother. The Dr.'s have told SIL that there is nothing further they can do to treat the cancer or the damage done by the radiation treatments that had initially seemed to be helping. He is being released from hospital and sent home to enter hospise care.
Pray for strength and peace for him and those of us who love him.

Chabba, I'm praying for your brother and your family.
Thanks y'all, I really hadn't thought too much about the funeral on Sunday being so supportive for Melissa and the girls.
Barbe, I'm going to suggest to my son about the smell. He also has long hair that he keeps in a pony tail. That could be holding on to the smell too. I've not been able to smell it but maybe he does. He slept a couple of hours last night but still cannot eat much of anything. I feel so helpless and I'm praying things start looking better for him soon.
Shelia, thanks for the hug.....I needed that.
Thank you all for conintuing to pray for Bryan's family and friends.

Adding chabba's brothers to my prayers. I pray that God gently holds him in His arms as HE takes him away from his pain. That peace can fill in the hole that he will leave in the lives of those he so loved.

Hi again:
Tomorrow will be the visitation and burial for Bryan. Please remember his family and friends in your prayers especially tomorrow.
Melissa is doing as well as can be expected and will have all of our support tomorrow and in the weeks to come.
My son seems to be doing better but tomorrow will be a tough day for him as well.
Please pray that God brings comfort to all the people who loved Bryan.
God bless y'all,
LaDonna

LaDonna my prayers are with you and those who loved him.
-
very much praying for God's peace & comfort for all! Blessings.
-
Special prayers today for Bryan and his loved ones as well as those who love him. Hopefully a small measure of closure will occur today that will help your son begin to heal LaDonna.
-
Thanks y'all......today is a rough day for sure.
I'm praying that the rain holds off (90% chance this afternoon) so that Bryan can be laid to rest beside the church where he was a member. I believe that by having the wake and funeral there will give Melissa and those precious girls great comfort.
My son called me early this am and is so distraught about today. I tried to calm him down reminding him that Bryan is with the Lord and that he would want my son to be strong today for Melissa and those girls as well as his famiy too.
Thank you for all your prayers, especially today.
God bless y'all,
LaDonna

LaDonna, I welcome a gentle rain at a funeral as I think of it as tears. I buried my Mom on a glorious sunny day and it just felt wrong. But, we buried my DH's Mom on a cold, windy rainy day and it speeded up the graveside service too much. A gentle rain is refreshing. Hugs to your son, this will be SO painful for you, too!
-
My father was buried on a cold winter day that started out gray and hazy. As we gathered around the graveside in the snow covered cemetery the sun shown through and the sky cleared. To me it was as though he was being welcomed home.
I just wish it didn't look like Mom and Dad will soon be welcoming my "little" brother. He should be released from the hospital to home hospice care today. My SIL was able to make all the necessary preparations yesterday. Please continue to pray for him and all of us who love him.
-
Oh dear chabba, I pray for a pain-free journey home for your dear brother.
-
Dearest Chabba, I am lifting up your brother as well as your family and friends in prayer. May God make his journey pain free.
God bless you,
LaDonna

Hi y'all:
We laid Bryan to rest today and we've been having severe thunderstorms but as we went outside, the sun started shining and that was a awesome sight to behold. It was like Bryan was saying "it'll be okay".
Melissa is doing okay, she's so thankful for the thoughts and prayers of so many people, both those she knows and those she doesn't. She really felt Bryan's presence with her today and she's such a strong woman, she's gonna be fine.
The service was just wonderful and so what Bryan would have planned. My son is feeling better and now is so thankful that he, too, feels the prayers keeping him lifted above his troubles.
Thank you all for remembering them in your prayers.
God bless y'all,
LaDonna

So glad that the service was nice. I will continue to lift your son, Melissa and their families in prayer.
Chabba, so sorry for the news for your little brother. "To every thing there is a season and a time to every purpose under heaven."

Yesterday we sang this old hymn in church and it felt so uplifting!
Down at the Cross
Down at the cross where my Savior died,
Down where for cleansing from sin I cried,
There to my sin was the blood applied;
Glory to His name!
Glory to His name,
Glory to His name;
There to my sin was the blood applied;
Glory to His name!
I am so wondrously saved from sin,
Jesus so sweetly abides within;
There at the cross where He took me in;
Glory to His name.
Oh, precious fountain that saves from sin,
I am so glad I have entered in;
There Jesus saves me and keeps me clean;
Glory to His name.
Come to this fountain so rich and sweet;
Cast thy poor soul at the Savior's feet;
Plunge in today, and be made complete;
Glory to His name. -
((Chabba))Prayers for you and your brother.

Continued prayer to those in grief...

That was beautiful! Thanks, Eph.
Today and in days that follow may be rough ones at work. Please keep me in your prayers.
-
Meece, I've been wondering if that young lad is still with you that had been testing your faith. You hadn't said anything recently....
-
His last day was on Tuesday and I am relieved. Corporate came in to evaluate my manager, under the guise of monitoring my day to see if I need an assistant. They saw much more than they wanted to and Yesterday the VP came for the day to set things straight with the Mgr. He's in the hot seat and I fear I will recieve the fall out from it.
-
On the lighter side, I recieved top reviews and both VPs called me Wednesday to thank me for doing a great job.
-
Well congrats to you!!! We, as older women (NOT 20's!!) do tend to have more pride in our jobs....
-
Meece, praying that the good that came out out of the review will extend out to far corners of your job & you will be appreciated & happy!
-
Thank you. No repercussions visible yesterday, but our branch manager is now undr the microscope. We are hiring 3 new employee in the next couple of weeks, so hopefully things will improve.
Thursday the Mgr left myself and another person (Who has issues) in charge, and I had to help him some. I started asking him questions about his job, and we had a good conversation for over an hour. Yesterday that person made a point to tell me goodnight, something he has never done before. Six months and the ice may be starting to break. I thank God for the small things which He can do that make life nicer, that was one of them.
