Naltrexone

Have now been on (2.5mg) LDN for just about 2 weeks and I {think} am noticing a slight difference. My arthritis is worst in the morning then gets better after a hot shower and as the day progresses. Lately I haven't felt quite as stiff in the mornings .... so maybe? Funny thing too is that I am sleeping BETTER! Lots of folks report sleep interuption on LDN yet I seem to have the opposite reaction. Before I could rarely go 2-3 hours before getting up for a bathroom trip or just to pace the floor for 30 minutes. Now I sleep almost 5 hours straght which is HUGE! I actually feel rested in the morning so am feeling better all over. I'm debating uping the dosage but may wait a full month.

I am starting chemo soon. I have found a doctor to give me low dose Naltrexone and Vitamin D, but he cannot see me until mid october
Anyway, I am hopeful when I see my oncologist on monday that he will approve this in conjunction with the chemo (I will be doing AC-T for 4 months).
I plan to work through treatment (I am a nursing supervisor, work 3: 12 hour days) and am hoping this will help with my stamina and well being.
Any suggestions?
Thank you.

I am from the Netherlands and I am using LDN for 2 years now because I have auto-immune (?) interstitial cystitis. In the beginning and every time I highered the dose it got a flare but I knew this could happen. After about 8/9 months I had my first painfree days and after a year I was painfree.
Also the fatique, the joint and muscle pain was gone and my bloodwork (kidneys. liver, inflammation) was better. In dec I heard I have breastcancer so I was a bit dissapointed LDN did not protect me for cancer..but my oncologist told me the cancer was there long before I started LDn...LDN gives me lost of energy..I had chemo, surgery and radiation and I am not tired at all.

I am very skeptical of Tamoxifen. My stage II breast cancer has been one of the most difficult experiences I have ever endured. I would rather avoid Tamoxifen and stick with Low Dose Naltrexone, for which I just scored a prescription yesterday. Most doctors do not understand it, so they are unwilling to prescribe it. It took me many phone calls and much tenacity to find a doctor who believes in it. He said, however, that he cannot legally and ethically advise me against taking Tamoxifen, in spite of the side effects. As Kaara stated, maybe the Naltrexone can minimize any Tamoxifen side effects. -
I'm not taking it at the moment, but did for a year after my BC. I can safely say that my immune system is great! I haven't been sick in two years and I've been around all kinds of flu and stomach viruses, as well as little kids colds which are the worst!
