No progress on finding the wraps. No Wal-Mart near me. Someone mentioned Thomas English Muffins. They have a light model with fewer calories/high fiber. But it doesn't roll up. -

I love the Thomas Light english muffins, and I think they actually taste better than the wraps. 8 grams of fiber, and 100 calories. Maybe you could call the wrap company or write to them to see where they are sold-----Flat-Out Saline, Michigan. 48176, and their website is www.flatoutbread.com.

Denise - I'm glad to have had your comparison. Neither Giant or Whole Foods had them. The wraps can be kind of chewy sometimes so I'll have to be happy with a toasted muffin.

rose, have you tried whole foods organic whole wheat tortillas? i use them for wraps with veggies and hummus and enjoy them..
also pita and naan from whole foods are favorites...
can't get enough of that good fiber stuff...

I did see tortillas. At the time I was in pursuit of wraps. The plus is that the tortillas were smaller.
All the wraps I saw were 200 calories. I'm looking for something in the 100 and under range. I'm a frequent customer so I'll check that out.
Somebody in a thread above was posting about high cholestrol. Aren't we all the good range here? Seems to me fiber is supposed to help that too. -
i had a bit of a high glucose quandry a while back...
i think it is from all the emergen-c with msm drinks i was having...
seems that glucosamine/chondrodine is processed by the body as a sugar..
think it contributed to a rise in my glucose readings but i just went to 120..
what was bothering me was the jump from 80 to 120 that puzzled me...
really don't worry about cholestrol these days, as a rule i eat such a high fiber low fat diet...
mind you i allow myself treats fairly regularly...going through a lot of stress right now, packing, cleaning, painting, moving, only son graduating and flying the nest...if this is emotional eating, whatever...
one thing for sure, my new normal has me constantly doing nice things for myself...:)
most of them are really healthy.
the thing i like most about fiber is it makes "my house" run real good and smooth...

I just bought a glocosamine supplement with boron. The book I read mentioned MSM as another thing they mix in with glucosamine. Do you think it relieves pain? DH has a bad back and we're always looking for fixes.
Do you do fish oil? DH bought this big bottle and was taking multiple capsules per day. He had the flu, threw up a couple of times. So he calls the health center and they had him come in to re-hydrate. You can tell he's not a woman, I would never even call about throwing up a couple of times! For him throwing up is the end of the world.
So they send him for blood work before he gets the IV, and it comes back high on the glucose. They told him to have a repeat. I went to Whole Foods and consulted in their big book. I looked diabetes and a small mention of fish oil elevating glucose was mentioned. Like maybe don't take it if you're diabetic. So I googled around and eventually found something that suggested fish oil could result in higher readings. DH quit taking the fish oil (I finished the bottle off recently), re-did the test and all was well!
I think he must have been taking a lot of it because I was immediately suspicious about it when he had the odd lab result. -

yes, i totally think that glucosamine/chondrodine aka msm helps with joint creakiness and repetitive action weakness and pain...and i find the emergenc-c with 500 mgs of g/c does great and is so easy to consume in tangerine flavor...yum...(at whole foods,on sale regularly)
i do fish oil, mostly for woman stuff and moisture...
coq10 is another constant...i think that it is great for heart and b/p...
along with two cups of tulsi (holy basil tea, to stay calm) and green tea (antioxidant)...
and tumeric and selenium..
but it is the antioxidants and the fiber that i swear by...
for the antioxidants, i swear by the einstein drink that i get at least twice a week at whole foods...
beets, carrots, parsley, spinach and tasty!!!
the einstein for antioxidants, in addition to everyday fiber of greens and technicolor...
i am all about keeping my immune system buffed up now...
isn't that what caused the bc, in the big picture, anyway?

i have been cautious about sharing the supplements i take, cause i don't recommend them to anyone else but myself. it has been trial and error.... but due to dx of bc and my own research and trial i take them and i feel good. -

I'm not sure I want to know what color my hair is. It used to be brown.
Does the emergenc-c have gelatin in it? Another book I picked up touted that as a remedy for joints. -
no gelatin...60mg of sodium, a bit of fructose and citric acid...
lots of flavors, i have everybody in the family adding one to a bottle of water each day...
lots of good stuff in them starting with 1000mg of c. i take one each day of several flavors, one with extra lycopine and one with msm (glucosamine and chondrodin and another one...strawberry something...
check them out at whole foods but you can find them lots of places and whole foods does put them on sale regularly.
i didn't know what color my hair was either...what a pleasant suprise...one chemical process i can pass on for a bit...

I read where olive oil acts to down regulate her2 and so I began lightly drizzling it on everything.
I do like using the chickenbroth though Rose. -
Well remember that even though it down-regulates her2 it's still got calories.
I'm quite partial to chickenbroth instead of oil. It keeps things from burning and drying out without adding.
fat/calories. I pour a can into a clear plastic container and keep it in the refrigerator. I don't like the boxes of broth because sometimes it sits in my frige quite a while and I worry about pouring moldy broth onto something perfectly good.
I always said if I got breast cancer and had chemo that I would stop coloring my hair when it grew back in. Now I'm pretty sure if I'd had chemo that I would have been coloring it the minute I had enough to color. -
I have been RL Swamped Laura, I wish I had more time to ponder here. But RL has RL responsibilities I really love. We have over 8 goats now, TD is dealing with gearing up for dual courses in HS and College. Middle son is gearing up for Football! Youngest is completing his Record Book for 4 H. Hopefully it will all get done! Yikes!!!
I am buying more and more veggies, intergrating them in wierd ways so the kids have no choice. They really dispise it but it seems to be working for their health.
I also do a fiber pill, it just seems to help me reach my fiber content that is best for me.
I am off of soda for good! Found out the hard way I am allergic, was off it for a while and drank some and thought I would die on the toilet like Elvis!
I mix Green tea with regular tea, it helps me get more green tea down! Hopefully I will drink less tea eventually.
My low fat is a slow progress but what I do I do for good. No butter, no soda, no donuts. On to the goats! -

my low fat diet is a work in progress too...
but even if i eat a few things that aren't the best, the majority of time i am eating on diet...
i don't worry about it and i don't feel deprived..:)
life IS good...

Well I got a hair cut today! I feel like a new woman! Not sure what is for dinner, I am so tired. I did errands all day and Hubby is working tonight!
Funny Laura what takes the longest I really feel the best about. My life is just a place I enjoy living each day!
Youngest turns 9 on Sunday and it is our 18th Wedding Anniversary, as well as Mother's day. I am going to cook a dinner tomorrow to be served on Sunday and make the cake tomorrow too.
What a year it has been! -

Finally remembered to do my 100 calorie bags of popcorn. Those are nice, just the right size for two. I've become an addict of 'CSI' re-runs, and on Friday night they have three in a row. One was sooooo gross - -

Tina - Last I looked my husband was sitting in the chair next to me. I thought I'd seen all the CSI episodes but then a bunch of new ones showed up.
Eveybody in my family is going to see 'The Di Vinci Code' so we're looking forward to that next weekend. -
I am looking forward to seeing it too, did you read the book? I hope the movie is similar to it. I also read Angels and Demons by the same author, excellent read.

I am addicted to Frasier, so I spent my anniversary cooking, baking and watching Frasier DVDs. It was shear bless, my family and me just "chillin".

I've read both books plus another he wrote.
We own the illustrated editions. The next book is supposed to be set in DC. -
So I have gained weight. I am not to that magic number that gets me scared silly though, but I knew I was overeating. I know it is stress, but hopefully I can pull back and take it one meal at a time.
I did find some of that dark chocolate at Sam's. It is 130 calories for 4 pieces. I know it can handle my chocolate cravings now. Plus I am the only eater of it!
