Yeah Bama, always a good feeling to get good news!!! I just have to be patient, a little easier to do after I watch the Sports and can see the Bills in uniform practicing, it is almost time, when does college football start? We will soon have our football back for our weekends, the time went fast - I didn't expect it to, I remember when we were in mourning at the end of the season. Thank God I quit smoking with the help of you all, or that hospital would have been a killer. Always good Bama to see your posting, Karen
-
Hi ladies! it's amazing what is thrown at us and how strong we are. Yet, we are faced with the impossible and able to beat it. Good going! Beckers, stay strong and positive. Karen, go slow and concentrate on your health. Beckers, what fabulous news! Never seen your old avatar but you look beautiful in your new avatar. I myself is suffering a little bout of food poisoning - took a sample but won't know the results till next week. If this keeps up, I'm going to the ER. But I have to tell you, I feel so crappy that even the thought of a smoke makes me ill!
-
Judi, new avatar pic is Lady Bama. :-). Gotta get one on there.
-
Thanks Beckers for info on the new avatar. I knew that when I was writing it but honestly don't know what happened. So, Lady Bama, my sincerest apologies, on my error. You look fabulous in your avatar!
-
Just for today I will not smoke. How is our Lisamarie doing? There are so many names who are doing well and those struggling too with their not smoking...sadly, I'm bad with names so I'll say it for the group. YOU ARE MAHVELOUS DAHLINKS!
Getting better daily although do have a seroma that will likely need to be drained. Oh well. Finally my short-term disability was approved and the first check has been cut. WAHOOOOOOOOO!
To those struggling through various health issues, no not the BC itself, prayers for you.
Sally

Glad to hear you are doing well Galsal! Hope everyone else is as well! Sometimes, I think we just need to slow down and smell the flowers .... I know I do. So, hoping everyone enjoys the weekend!
-
Had wonderful going away party for "my girls" today (as I'm having BMX this week). We went to the beach and it was nice to be with friends/family overlooking ocean. Son's girlfriend made cute boob cake. It was so nice to be a non smoker. I used to be the only one. I will have 8 weeks tomorrow. Woohoo!!
-
Beckers, congrats on your 8 weeks .... whohoo, whohoo! Just thought I would give you a double congrats as you deserve it. Love the boob cake! Will be thinking of you on your upcoming surgery .... what day is it? You will be in our thoughts and prayers!
-
Judi - my surgery is Thurs the 9th.
-
Beckers, good luck on the 9th! Will be thinking of you!
-
Karen: September 1, Auburn plays Clemson. Less than a month, woo hoo!!!
Beckers, no problem, but weird. I wonder how that happened.
-
Bama, YAHOO, I'll be joining you in watching and rooting for your team. Back to normal weekends or us and cooler weather, I'm tired of the 90's!!
-
Omg.. I got notification letter from medical center today about a charge for blood work checking my "Nicotine Level" My PS is serious business!!!
-
HOLY COWABUNGA...that's astounding, Beckers!
-
Unbelievable, Beckers. Never heard of such a thing but when they mean business, they mean business!
-
Happy to report too that my chest CT was clear!!!!!!!!! Woo hoo!!!!
-
Whoohoo, whoohoo, whoohoo! Thank the luck stars!
-
Beckers. isn't it great when all those pre=op tests come backl "no problem". YAY for you. I haven't been posting but read every posting, trying to get my endurance back up to normal, but it sure is taking more than I expected.
-
Karen, good to see you are coming along. Hang in, you will be back to normal before you know it. Gentle hugs!
-
Thanks JudiH, I will surely take those gentle hugs, I guess I will have to be patient, saw my PCP today, she emphasized that I had been very, very sick and should expect to get better in baby steps. Beckers. thinking of you, today was surgery day wasn't it, hope you are painfree and I did sneak in your pocket - surprise! Bama, Bills play their first pre-season game right now, it was not sold out, so it is blacked out to the immediate area. It will be shown Friday night here at 8 PM, I so hope we make a better showing this year. I've got Auburns' first game on my calender, so I won't miss it. Karen
-
Oh Karen, I'm sending you a ton of gentle hugs. I feel so bad for you. I just recovered from a bout of food poisoning and I was scared. I automatically think the worse. But, I've bounced back. So for you, please take baby, baby steps, and only concentrate on getting better. I'm rooting for you!
Beckers, hope today was o.k. for you and yes, you are painfree.
BTW Kare and Bama, thanks for your game remarks. I was telling my dh and he too got excited that football is back. He's right with you ladies!
-
JudiH, is he a Bill's fan? I don't know where in Ontario you are.
-
Hi K! I don't know if dh is a Bill's fan. He is away with his firefighter friends whooping it up this weekend. I'll ask when he gets home. All I know is that when the season starts, both college ball and Monday night football is on. Yikes, what's a gal to do? Because after that, then he snowboards!
We live in Mansfield, Ontario which is north of Toronto, Brampton, Orangeville. Really beautiful but when the snow hits, it can be a bummer.
In fact, next weekend, me and my girlfriends are heading to Buffalo to do some siteseeing and shopping. Looking forward to it. Actually going to take a home/art tour .... should it interesting! Drive should take us about 2 1/2 hours from my house. As long as we don't stop for coffee/snacks/lunch we should make it in that time. Last time we went, we left at 9 a.m. and got to the border at 3:00 p.m. Couldn't believe it!
-
Just for today, I will not smoke. Hope it's working for all and if not, get back to it!
Karen, feel better woman! Beckers, hoping all went well!
-
JudiH, how fun, for you, I grew uo in Buffalo and lived in a suburb to Bflo. when my DD was 6, we always went to Toronto shopping!! Did that trip once a year till she was off to college, love that city. And yes I do know about the snow, although I can't remember getting many snow days, that was always a treat. Batavia is 40 min. east of Buffalo, it is a small city, just far enough from Bflo. that we don't get the lake effect snow. Your husband would fit right in with Bama and I, that's exactly the schedule we keep when the season starts. We are football fanatics. Galsal, I'm working on it, feel better each day, but I want to be better now!! Karen
-
Hi K, hope you are feeling better today! Imagine, you don't live that far from where I will be heading this coming weekend! I'm so excited to have a girls weekend. Don't even care if I shop. We were pretty lucky on the snow last year. I can't recall taking any snow days. Some say that the amount of berries on one of our trees, is an indicator of the amount of snow we will get. I don't think there is a lot but you just can fool with Mother Nature.
Both of us are coming us to some pretty amazing months of being smoke free. How does this feel?
-
JudiH, I can't remember what month I am on, I think 19th, will have to wait for Seaside to come back from vacation to let me know. Hard now to actually picture me smoking, I do chew gum almost constantly - very ladylike! Karen
-
K, thanks for the "smile and chuckle". We are neck and neck on the "quit dates". On the 20th of this month, I will be 20 months and you are right behind me at 19 months. Seems like an eternity. You chew gum ... I like to shop, shop, shop. I starting to think I have a bit of memory loss, because I'm starting to see doubles, triples, of shopping items!
-
Just for today - I don't think I could smoke for all the tea in china. Whew this dilated is powerful!!! I could barely start reading English today. Ha!!!!!!!
-
Beckers, good to hear from you, I was on that in the hospital, my daughter told visitors to come before I had my shot of it, cause I left out all my consonants after!!!
