Can you speak with the finance office at the hospital/center where you received rads and work out a payment plan ? There is also a section on bco that discusses paying for treatment. That may be helpful too. Best wishes, caryn

Does your insurance have an out of pocket catastrophic clause? Have you checked into any of the relief organizations such as Cancer Care or Healthwell? And my RO was willing to write off some of mine due to my unemployed status and inability to pay. I would talk to the office manager or whoever is in charge of billing.
Also check out the American Cancer Society, may be some assistance there.
$35 a day adds up quickly! I'm surprised they didn't hound you for the co-pay everytime you walked thru the door. Best of luck to you. You certainly don't need the added stress.

Have you spoken with the billing office to set up a payment plan? Many offices are willling to work with you. Whatever you do, though, don't just ignore the bills - some billing services turn accounts over to collection fairly quickly, and if they do that, it just complicates everything.
Good luck.

I spoke with a social worker at the cancer center where I recieved RADs. She offered me things like child care & also ask about finances. I thought I was going to have to pay $35 per treatment. But some how it ended up being only $25. I really can't figure out my insurance plan. If I was unable to pay, I'd ask this social worker. You also might want to check with your regional "cancer society". Maybe your RADs center can reduce your bill.

My prayers have been answered I finally found a organization that will help pay my radiation bill so anyone out there NEVER GIVE UP LOOKING there are things out there even locally that I was never aware of. Hey they are willing to pay half my bill I will take it instead of $1,300 I will owe $600. I am so happy it has been so long since I have been this happy. It must have been my day not only did this happen today but when I got my mail today there was a card and some one anonymously sent a card and 30.00 cash in it . There is still great people with hearts out there :}

Glad to hear the good news. Can you share the name of the org that helped and/or any tips for others looking for a similar org? Glad to hear the great news. Hurrah!

ang, I was prowling the internet last night, trying to find some financial assistance for another BCO-sister, and I came across this organization and website: http://www.thepinkfund.org/
Since you're still in tx, perhaps they can give you some additional help. It sounds like it would be worth looking into. (((Hugs))) Deanna
