Need an Onc in Michigan

Please let me know if you have an onc that you are happy with from Michigan. I am recently diagnosed with extensive ALH/LCIS and need an oncologist to follow me and prescribe Tamoxifen. I already have an appt with a doc my surgeon referred me to but I would love to deal with someone I can really trust. Thanks ahead for your advice.

Hi idteacher, sorry you find yourself here. I have a onc I really like in Midland. I don't know where you are in the state. If you are interested, PM me. I don't have LCIS, but he only treats breast cancer.

Good luck finding someone you trust and can connect with.

I'm hoping to find one in Ann Arbor-St. Joes since my surgeon is out of that hospital and Chelsea Hospital.

Some oncs won't see patients with LCIS?

Mine is Dr Winegarten, he's very compassionate.

Also hear good things about Dr Beekman.

    Just call Ann Arbor Hematology-Oncology.

I didn't mean that some docs won't see patients with LCIS, I just wanted to be clear that I was being treated for a different diagnosis. I'm sure there are great doctors. "downstate". Good luck!

Thank you ladies, I have an appt with Dr. Winegarden which is convenient since he's in Brighton near my home. Dr. Beekman is only accepting patients in Chelsea which I'm thinking about instead. I feel like a woman would be easier to relate to. I also called UM's Dr. Griggs per a friend's suggestion, but they have taken my information 2x and then say they will call me back.

Do you think I can keep my surgeon at St Joe if I go through the UM system?

Thanks again for your advice. Amy
