updated my avatar with this weeks photo, the hair isnt feeling so baby soft any more. starting to get my normal texture back, at least a hint of it. the last of my brows and lashes fell out today though. I keep hoping that i am seeing white brows and lashes growing back but i cant tell.
-
Wow jpmom, your hair has really come in!

Doing good JP

Ok...so here's my hair question:
I am 4 months PFC and the hair is starting to grow back, but I am noticing it is growing way faster on the sides and back. Why is it that my bangs always seemed to grow the fastest pre-chemo, and now they are the slowest growing area on my head! Does anyone else seem to have this problem? -
Ella, im 6 months pfc and my hair is growing the same way - bangs are behind the sides & back. Id hate to have to trim even a tiny bit, but im afraid it will eventually turn into a mullet if I don't trim the back so the bangs can catch up. Weird, because like you said, pre chemo, bangs always grew fastest.
-
Ella - same thing happened here...and then it drastically changed and the top took off. I can see my bangs and the top literally growing each day...where as the sides seemed to have slowed down a bit. Maybe yours will do the same :-)
-
JP-How many weeks PFC are you?
Ella: My hair is the same way and I am 1 month PFC.
-
I'm 10 months and my bangs and the top are finally looking more in proportion to the back. I had the back trimmed a bit twice to prevent the mullet.
-
LuvRVing: YOu look beautiful!
-
Thanks, Karen!
-
My hairdresser (also my cousin) says that the front grows slower because it has less blood supply than the back in general, not just after chemo. Maybe we notice the front growing faster because it gets in our eyes???
-
Ella oh yeah. I'm 7 and a half months pfc and I'm still thin on top in places while I've had the sides and back trimmed several times to control the curls. The top and front of my hair always was thickest and grew fastest, now it's maddeningly slow.
-
Nancy, did trimming the curls keep them from coming back? I'm 8 months PFC and not sure about trimming anything yet.
-
Ella, I have the same problem... My bangs are about an inch shorter than everywhere else. I will say, however, that my hair seems to be growing a bit faster lately, and I'm finally able to use a flat iron to make my bangs seem almost like real bangs, and not "fringe". We're getting there!
-
yepper...I am 6 months PFC and have hardly any bangs...they USED to grow like crazy!
-
For some reason the back grows faster, then the sides then the rest which include bangs--and to me that's important Ella- very important LOL
