Thanks all for the birthday wishes!  The derm visit went fine - just a "freckle" for lack of a better word.  We then ran by the store, drove home and I was done for the day by 10:30 am!  My family "surprised" me with a cake/pizza/gifts last night so we did the birthday thing then.

Gabbi - sorry about your friend, always hard to hear close friends have to go through it.  But on the positive side, glad you are nearing the end of the road!

Just saw that Robin Roberts (GMA) is taking a leave of absence for a bone marrow transplant. She is a strong woman and I'm sure she will get through this!

3rd Rads down.  They have it down to a science, swear it was 5 mins - now if they could do something about the traffic getting there and back!

Kim - glad rads is going smoothly - I hear ya on the traffic.  That is the way Sarah's appt was this morning.  We drove 45 minutes to get there, had to fill out pwork, etc...and then were in and out in 5 min.

Oh, yeah its fine - there is a word for it but basically it's just skin pigmentation - like a freckle - she (like me) is very fair and has freckles  when she gets in the sun.  He measured it and said use lip balm with sunscreen.  It does make her a little self conscious because it looks like a speck of dirt on her lower lip, lol.  I guess she can always cover it with lipstick later on.

kltb- glad it just a freckle must make you both feel better. Hope you enjoyed your Bday.

I got news to day that I didn't ever want to hear.  MO said that my tumor was sitting on the chest wall and since the chemo didn't kill it he might have me do more chemo after I finish the rads. I have brain numbness right now.

I do had acne during chemo. My face and my back broke out. I finished chemo 5/31, but am still battling the acne and the ugly marks left behind. I recently tried the Unblemish line from Rodan + Fields and was so impressed that I have signed up as a consultant. It has made a huge difference in my self esteem (now if my remaining hair would return I would really be on my way). Let me know if you want any additional info.

    lost

I'm so sorry you have to go through this.  There are a few on the February thread where I started out here that have had to do a 2nd or more TX than anticipated.  Hopefully after RADS you'll be able to get a bit of a break to regain your strengh both physically and mentally to prepare.  We're all here for you.  (((HUGS))).  Maureen

Lost - sorry to hear this.  BC treats us all so differently.  Did your MO say what kind of chemo they would try?  Hopefully he won't have to go there.  xxxo

Thanks everyone for your encouragement and support!!  I am holding on to the fact that he said "might" and "only if I can get you into a clinical trial".  I am just so ready to get on with life and not let this cancer crap have any more of it.  He did mention something about hyperthermal rads?  He said they warmed the area up before the rads, they think the radiation might get in better. Anyone heard of this?

Until Friday I have stayed positive throughout all of this. But it finally closed in that I might not be here for long. But I am over that pity party and refusing to give in to negative thoughts. I saw a post on a different support group from a woman the was DX'd at stage 4 in 99. She had a year of aggressive chemo no rads. She was still ned at scan time this past June! I plan on being ned too along with all of you!

Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend.

Wanda, you aren't going anywhere!  We refuse to let you...lol.  This may be just another bump on this stupid journey we are all on.   A bend in the road, a...ok, I'll stop with the tired cliches.  (((hugs))) and I hope you are feeling better.

Each spring and fall I do consignment sales to get rid of the girls' previous seasons clothes and make money to buy new ones and one kind of snuck up on me this year as it starts tomorrow.  So I am spending today trying to get things together to drop off tomorrow.  For the last few years, they have both had tons of clothes due to my JCP discount, lol, that may change this year!  That's about the only thing I miss about working retail. But the way they are changing the company, you don't get the good deals you used to.  I would stack my discount along with sales and the coupons and come out like a bandit!

Looking forward to the Olympic women's gymnastics tonight.  Wish they came on earlier than 7 so I would have an excuse to sit down and stop working.

lana- your comment had me laughing, I catch myself rubbing my head often.  I also use it to show my DH what it feels like when he doesn't shave.

kltb-you guys are stuck with me you'll just have to live with it.

I drove myself to the store yesterday!! I did have to hunt down one of the cart guys at walmart to get the cat food in the car for me. I couldn't get it out of the cart without using the left arm too much. I still haven't been turned loose to lift with it. He asked me if I had cancer, told him yes. Then he asked what kind. I told him. Got to thinking about that last night, I guess being half flat didn't show as much as I think it does. But then righty is squished into this crazy sports type bra and I'm not that well blessed to start with.

Waiting on the RO to call with an appointment time. Seems we are always waiting on something.  Hope everyones week is off to a good start.

    Morning ladies.

lana - yay for hair - I rub my head all the time.  DH did the other day and said "wow, it's soft, not like stubble" I can't tell what color mine is - it looks darkish with gray.  My "natural" color long ago was dirty brownish blonde but grays had changed it to a ugly mousey brown color.

lost - good for you on the shopping - funny how some people will just flat out ask.  I find I don't really mind so much as long as I am not in a bad moood, lol.  Let us know when you hear about rads.

I have plans to day as much as I HATE to get out in this record breaking heat.  Taking the clothes to the c sale and then meeting two friends for dinner.    We talk all the time on FB but I don't think I have seen them in person for nearly a couple years.  I don't know if I have said all this on this thread so forgive me if I repeat myself.  Anyway, we all used to live in the same neighborhood when the our now 12 year olds were toddlers and had playgroups, etc...so it will be fun.  It would be funny to get the kiddos together too - although with Sarah being the only girl, that might be awkward.  They would probably all just stare at each other.  But not this time - moms only.

    Hi Lost in Motion

I got chatting to a lady at round seven of chemo (third dose of Taxotere) on Friday.

She told me she was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 35, has had two bouts since and is now 65.

She didn't give any more details and I didn't know her well enough to delve too deeply but...
