The ARN-P (Nurse Practioner) that newly works with my MO has years of experience in Radiation Oncology and she told me that the Best skin care to prevent radiation skin side effects is MiaDerm.

I have used a calendula cream made by California Baby with fabulous results after a severe Taxotere dermatitis. It worked fast, smelled good and was very comforting.

Miaderm has 4% calendula plus other things that have been proven to do well but I am wondering if anyone has experience.

I know many have used Aquafor and aloe and other creams......I used these when I had rads in 2006. I would like to try this new cream and since its 100% guaranteed (according to their website www.miaderm.com) I am willing to give it a try.

So please don't post your own "other " creams experince. I am only interested in Miaderm.

I used Miaderm ... I did get pretty bad radiation dermititis at about treatment 19, but overall I thought it worked well.  Funny thing about the money back guarantee, when I told my husband about it he said, "well, if it doesn't work getting your money back will be the least of your worries" Wink

I used Miaderm during my 28 rad sessions and it worked really well. It wasn't as sticky as Aquaphor and was not all that expensive. I used a total of 3 tubes and did not burn badly at all. It has been 6 months and you can barely see the treated area.

I used it too. Only had mild sunburn in armpit at end of 25tx. Used three bottles also. I only see maybe faint tan line now. Didn't have any skin issues

I used Miaderm.  I did have issues about 3/4 of the way through - but they were pretty tolerable and went away within 3 weeks of finishing treatment.  Once my skin broke down Miaderm did not help, and actually may have made it a little worse (but all creams made it worse -- for me anyway, the area was pretty small -- maybe 2 inches x 2 inches - and it was best to let that area dry out rather than put anything on it).  The I did  keep using Miaderm on the other parts of my breast that did not have problems.

I used Miaderm all through radiation and my skin held up very well. Good luck during your treatments.

Miaderm helped up until the last 2 weeks of radiation.
