I can't find this mentioned elsewhere on this site. I thought that some people may be interested in the "Sister Study".
http://www.sisterstudy.org/English/index1.htm

The Sister Study is the only long-term study of women aged 35 to 74 whose sister had breast cancer. It is a national study to learn how environment and genes affect the chances of getting breast cancer. In the next 3 years, 50,000 women whose sister had breast cancer, and who do not have breast cancer themselves will be asked to join the study.

My dear sister is doing it; it was amazing the amount of information they are collecting, and it's a long term committment. THANKS, SIS! Leigh

My mom is participating - her sister (my auntie) has breast cancer.

I'm grateful to all the women joining - we will all benefit in some way from their generosity. Thank you.

My sister just asked about this too -- to find out if I wanted her to participate. She wanted to know if this was a worthwhile study. I have no idea.

I am in the sister study and I encourage any sisters
out there to join too. With this research they will be able to hopefully get many answers about genetic and enviromnetal issues. It only takes a little of your time
some blood and urine and a nurse comes to your home to collect samples .

They ask many questions about famly history , your history , how you eat where you live ect..

I am glad I did it , It makes me feel like in a small way
I am helping find a cure!

    Here is a number: 1-877-4SISTER
