I know this is very TMI.....regarding hysterectomy/ooph
Ok so those of you who have had a hysterectomy/ooph who has had issues dealing with pain when you ummmm pass gas or have a loose bowel movement.
It also takes me ages to start urinating and the stream is much slower than it used to be.
Is it only me???

I had my radical hysterectomy in 2003. I have the same problems as you. I still have issues with pain but even a gastroenterologist couldn't figure out what the problem is, and I went to more than one. I became lactose intolerant after the chemo and found it took along time before I could start eating certain foods without running to the bathroom. The pain hasn't gone away unfortunetly. It's possible it could be from a hernia, which I found out I have. As far as the urinary problems I went to a specialist and use a dialator. The problem is from the scar tissue after your surgery.

I had very bad urinary retention after surgery. Gyn said combo of swelling and pain med but mostly pain med. Found out when I took same med for knee surgery that it was probably all pain meds fault. As for the other I was just happy to be going. Dont remember it hurting much. Hope you feel better soon.

Sorry didnt realize you were two mo. post op. Are you stil on pain meds and have you been tested for uti

Okay, I didn't have the pain you are talking about, but for a while after the procedure, I had a "changed" urinary stream. I don't think it was slower, but it came out at a different angle. LOL. I got so tired of sitting down to pee, and getting it all over the floor and my clothes because it would come out more straight out, than downwards. It was especially embarrassing in public restrooms because I literally would pee on the floor, and I could not help it. Trying to slow the stream down helped a little bit, as did starting and restarting, but I know that's not good for you. I had kind of stopped thinking about it until this post made me realize that it's not really doing that anymore. Hmmm. I wonder why it stopped.

autismmom
no, I am not pain meds anymore.
I do however have a boy with high functioning autism, which I know has nothing to do with this but your id just made me smile

Thanks. And I am in AZ too.

I didn't think of possible UTI. I am on antibiotics for tonsillitis right now so if I have one, that should get it.

I just read your initial post for the first time about hysterectomy/ooph issues. I know that it's been a while since you last posted but just in case you are still having questions/difficulties I wanted to tell you about the web site www.hystersisters.com After I had a hysterectomy 5 years ago I got lots of support and information from that site. It deals with many different gynecological issues.
