HERCEPTIN alone in Canada?

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone living in Canada is able to get treatment with Herceptin alone without chemo? My oncologist says it is not allowed here in Canada to only get Herceptin. Why can't I have the choice to choose the treatment I want? I know there isn't sufficient information to know if Herceptin alone works but there are many women in the US and in Europe doing it that's why I'm confuse about it.

Any input will be greatly appreciated.

    I'm not someone from Canada. But health care is paid for differently in Canada. I suspect that even in Canada, if you have no more than early stage bc and are able to cover the cost of Herceptin alone and its administration (around $50,000 roughly, US dollars), and you go to the trouble to get private services from an onc in some way, you might find an onc willing to assist.

    You are quite close to the U.S. border...

    Others from Canada may have more experience with this than I.
