I actually had less pain after the BMX than I do now over four months later.  The pain is all over the incision area...some days are worse than others...if I wear my prosthetic too long, it gets worse and I also have pain around my back and under my arms.  I guess this is normal.  Is there anything I can do to make it more bearable.  I know it is only four months, I shouldn't complaint.  (((hugs to all)))  Barbie

It's almost 6 months since my BMX and I agree with you. After surgery, the incision area didn't really bother me (I had so much pain under my arms) but for the past 2 months, I've felt like someone has punched me in the chest area.  It's a deep bruise pain if that makes sense.  If I bump into something, I jump.  If one of my cats (or my new very hyper puppy) jumps on me, I scream.  I cover myself with pillows when I sit on the couch just in case.

I've been wearing my foobs on and off for about 2 months.  I have silicone and foams which I alternate in between.  The other day I wore the silicone foobs in a 'sexy' bra (not the sport type bras I had been wearing) and I'm in more 'discomfort' than normal.

I still have that tight band feeling across my chest which drives me crazy at times.  Plus I'm still swollen under my armpits.  Sleeveless tops are out unless the arm hole is small (and then it bothers me) because I looked deformed if I raise my arms.

I keep telling myself that I'm halfway there to feeling normal...but that gets tiring after a while.  I'd love to wake up one morning, take a deep breath w/o that tight feeling, stretch w/o wincing.

    Gentle hugs,

    Cats

I'm 6 mo from a UMX and its a deep chest wall pain.  I came out of a store the other day, sat in the car and slipped my foob out it was so uncomfortable. Had only had it in for 5 hrs.  A YKYACP moment.  My BS said that nerves grow a 1/2 in a month and I'm wondering if this about them reconnecting because there was a deep level numbness for so long; I had feeling on the skin but numbness under that.  I hate it.

Ladies...just reading what you have posted is EXACTLY HOW I FEEL.  I can't say anything more except yes, when I wear my prosthetic afterwards the area feels worse.  I just went for accupuncture...I feel normal afterwards for awhile...My daughter is getting married on June 16th and I am going again to accupuncture next week so that the level of discomfort is low.  Wow...I never thought it would be like this but I do feel better knowing I am not the only one feeling this way.  I was getting concerned that maybe something else is going on there.  I am always worried about recurrences.  What a way to live!!!!   I hate it too!!!   ((((Big hugs to you my sisters)))  Let's hope it gets better for all of us at some point!!!  Barbie

I worn my swim forms this weekend for the first time this season and when I lay on my stomach on the raft I am sooooo sore the next day. It has been 1 and 1/2 years since my BMX. Is this normal?

I am 2 years out on the left and 8 months out on the right and I still hurt the day after i wear forms. Today i tried on bathing suits and I hurt from the fabric rubbing.

I have never worn forms more than a day at a time, and then a day with no forms...my doctor says this seems to be how it will stay. Interestingly enough I have no numbness, lots of nerve regeneration, but the downside to that is pain.

It often feels like a sunburn, or a deep soreness within. Sometimes an itching that drives me crazy because nothing can satisfy that itch.
