I have been away for a few days and wow...you gals have been busy! I don't have time to read all the posts that I missed, but I wanted to chime in and tell Jo how happy I am that her bx was B9. Happy dancing!!
To everyone else....I wish you a good day free from pain, worry and fear.
Now, I have to go take my tamoxifen pill.
-
Well, Paula, I do love my DH, but sowing some wild oats with some of your eye candy would be a lot of fun!!!!
And I have energy for one more WHACK right back at ya! Woo Hoo!!!

OK, truly, I don't think I am to the manic stage, but it sure feels good to feel almost good again!!!!
1openheart, glad to see you back. I always enjoy the quote from Rumi. There are so many of his poems that are so inspirational -I have often wondered: how did you choose this specific line?

Linda glad you found a miracle drug that seems to be working for you.
-
Linda - So glad you found a miracle drug and have lots of energy now. I found the same thing when I was put on Nortriptyline - lots of energy and sleeping the best I have in many years. Since you are feeling a bit froggy this morning - here goes - WWWHHHAAACCCKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!
Paula - Just for shits and giggles - how about some mid week eye candy? Please! Please! Please! You are the best.

Yeah!!! Linda, Sandee and June.... I love hearing from you all!
Debbie, great news!
Linda, so glad you found your mojo! It's hard to start another drug when it feels like "really???....another chemical you want me to put into my body???". But as much as I'm anti-drugs in so many ways....I do believe they have valid uses when we listen to our bodies as well as our medical advisor. -
I forgot how quickly this train moves. LOL
I've got rib pain again, so I'm thinking it will be back in to see the onc and now heavy periods. Oh to go a few weeks without a Dr.s visit. Grrrrr
Off to the lyphemdema clinic for me.
On a good note, meeting the girls for margaritias tonight. Sooooooooooo looking forward to my reward!
Happy Wednesday ladies xxxxxxxxxxxx

Ha ha, understood Tink! I hope you have a positively magical time!! In a mere 9 days, I will be working to leave my personal butt print in the sand of the Outer Banks. After a whirlwind year, I am soo looking forward to just sitting and admiring the peace & tranquility of the ocean. Course I have to get thru the Monday onc visit before I go....ugh!
-
Youy will manage your onc visit just fine Odie16...you have an imprint in the sand heralding you forward. WHEEHA!
-
Tink - When are you going on your Disney cruise? DH and I are off on a Carnival Cruise Sept 2nd. Can't wait. It is just a couple of days after my 2 year cancerversary.
-
Oh, the tammie train is speeding along! Congratulations to ALL who had B9 results! Such a relief after all the waiting. Sherry, so sorry about your aunt. But glad she had such a nice memorial service with all her loved ones remembering her and enjoying each other's company.
June, Linda and Sandee - yes once a tammie sister, always a tammie sister. Your experiences help all the newbies and us oldies as well. Really, it seems like it's always something with this drug. Lately, I've been having terrible leg cramps that wake me up - the other day I sat straight up in bed from a sound sleep crying "make it stop, make it stop, make it stop". LOL, it lasted about as long as I kept moaning - maybe 10 seconds. But, it hurt so bad! Does anyone know if this is a side effect of Tamoxifen or know what to do about it? I've read it can be caused by dehydration and of course, it's been so hot the past 3 weeks. Maybe I need some bananas... and I do drink a lot of water.
Oh, and yesterday I broke my tooth eating almonds - they may be good for you but I'm not eating them anymore! It had a gold crown on it but I didn't know my tooth was broken at first - I thought I just bit into a bad almond. So I spit it out into the trash. Today, when I went to the dentist I found out that it WAS the tooth with the gold cap that broke off so I dug through the trash and couldn't find it!
Jules - a few weeks without a doctor's visit? Who knew that one day that would be our fondest wish! In the next 2 weeks I've got my MO, mammogram and BS and I had to stop today to make some time for the dentist! He asked me if I wanted to come back another day to have my tooth fixed and I said, "Oh, no!". I'm thinking, I don't have time for this! But I was very appreciative they squeezed me in.
Linda, awesome you found some energy! Jo, so glad it's over again and with good results. I really hope you don't have it happen next year. Sandee & Paula - thank you for saying exactly what I need to hear. I can't help but worry time to time - I don't know if that ever goes away - but you girls sure help me keep things in perspective!
I read somewhere - or else a doctor told me (hard to keep things straight nowadays) - that if you stay on Tamoxifen for 2 years you get 80% of the benefit anyway. Might want to double-check that with your doctors, for sure, but I remember thinking if I couldn't take it I would stop after 2 years. So far, so good though, but I always kept that in the back of my mind.
-
heartnsoul I ran into a friend the other day that is taking tamox. She said her only SE is she wakes up every night with leg cramps. She said she had been taking potassium and it still has not helped.
I need a pocket party. I see the MO tomorrow and get my Zometa treatment. I'm going to make a fun day out of it as an old girlfriend from my old town is meeting up with me to shop and have lunch. Will be really great to see her and spend time with her. Then I got to looking at my calendar and boy August is overloaded. I am having my exchange surgery on August 21st so I will have my pre-op visit two weeks before that. I also had scheduled my teeth cleaning and check with my dentist. Then I decided that since I will be taking a tammi break and I just turned 50 that maybe I should have the first dreaded colonoscopy while I am off work. So I have to meet with the Dr the first week in August so we can get it scheduled after my exchange and before I return to work. I think I'll need a vacation after all that just to rest up.
-
Oh man look what happens when I'm away!! I'm so sorry for the missing of the eye candy posting. I was at the hospital until very late last night with my momma and was so pooped when I got home that I just blew the kids kisses goodnight and dragged myself off to bed.
Well I got some news about what the sonogram found. There is a mass, they just am not sure what it is. I'm waiting on a call back from the doctors with a day and time for the biopsy. Here we go again!! I just want to hurry up and get this going so I can continue on with living again. This really couldn't have come a a worse time for me. My momma is facing a rough recovery and will need our support. I've got to keep it together so she doesn't worry.
Have a great day all! Love and light to you all!
-
Sherry ~ you aint kidding about needing a vacation after all you have to do......geez! I pray it is smooth sailing for you though, and I am jumping in......
Heartnsoul ~ that is interesting about the 2 years benefit from taking Tamox.....now that made me feel a little better. I feel your pain on the screaming in pain for all of 10 seconds. That same thing happened to me and I thought the same thing when I was taking it......tammi related or not. If you ask a doctor you know they are going to say no way!!! Too bad for the tooth as well, that sucks!!
Sandee ~ way to go....have fun! I never knew you were into gymnastics. I used to love doing kart wheels and hand stands and would never try one at my age now....ha ha
Odie ~ have fun on your vacation as you deserve to have fun in the sun....
-
Paula geez so sorry you know have to have a biopsy with all that your mom is going through. Will be praying for you and we will all keep you company while you are waiting.
-
OH NO PAULA......not again! Fingers crossed and please keep us posted, love ya gal! How is Mom today?
-
Paula - Damn it all! Not again?? Keeping fingers crossed for B9 results. I know your mom needs you right now and that can be your focus until you get the results.
Sherry - I'll say you need a vacation after that schedule. I had my one and only colonoscopy at 52 and will never do that again. My GYN thought I needed one since I was past that 50 mark. Good luck to you.
-
Paula, keeping you and your mother in my heart and prayers.
Sherry - I do NOT envy your schedule for the next week or two!!! Keep your eye on the vacation!
Friday's coming!

-
Paula... im so sorry sweetie!!! will be with you in spirit and sending lots of love hugs and prayers! for both yu and your mom. let us know when your biopsy is!!!
Sherry.. that is alot going on too. will be sending you love andprayers too. My DD just had a colonoscopy and the worst part seemed to be the prep.. other than that she remembers nothing and even woke up giddy! I asked the nurse if I could get someof what they gave her to go!!! good luck will be in your pocket!
-
Heartnsoul, I hear you. After seeing the MD today she ordered an xray. Wanted to know if I wanted in immediately or next week. I said immediately. The though of having to go a weekend knowing that I still have 2 Drs appt next week would make me crazy.
On a side note. I think the technician that took my blood today practices on a voodoo doll. OMG! Talk about painful.
Taking my sorry for myself backside into the garden to enjoy some rare but wonderful Washington sun:)
Jules
-
jules... thinking of you!!!! lets us know whats going on!! lots of hugs!
-
Jules - Keep us posted. Sending lots of hugs.
-
Ya all know I love this sight but today I was typing up my response earlier today and noticed it kicked me out so I was very frustrated and just found the time to type this long ass message to only see that it showed up to begin with.......IS IT ME??? I cant blame Tamox anymore for my stupidness.....
