MaddyMac - None to worry. We will make room for you. So be ready to go.
-
Maddymac , the more the better .. I have lots of room in my pockets , I will feel much better if everyone is with me
-
awww Beckers.. thank YOU!! yes big time ok, will start the starting over again
so I was supposed to be cutting down, but thats not what happened.
I was reassessed, healed way more than we thought. got the Vac dressin on now. big progress was made they say. so next is the iv dressing the iv. new bugs too instead of the staph. so new antibiotics too. so things are moving/changing etc.. a good sign
-
Lisamarie - count me in too! I had BMX and have bilateral LE so foot IV's and calf BP's are the only way for me to go when having surgery. I have had 2 surgery's with foot IV's and as long I I am hydrated and have a good phlebotomist it is not bad. I could even walk the halls with no problem after surgery...just felt funny! I will say it is very good to have free range of motion with my arms. Sending you big hugs!
-
For those of you still at the begining of the quitting journey, my "tip" book gives you some direction to boost motivation, creating a plan etc. I'll send a PDF copy to anyone who wants one--I just need an email address--it's a PDF file. Have a joy-filled day. VJ
-
Lisamarie,
Hope your exchange goes well today!! I'm sure it will feel good to ditch those TE's!! -
o2b, Seaside and Jo, feels like old times, a yr. for Jo and 18 mos. for me, even longer for you two!! Time has simply flown by. lisamarie, hope you are painfree, and beginning the healing process! You are a trooper, with more courage than you realize. hugs, Karen

I now get to carry a card that says what implants i have and the amount of CC's .. lol ... anyway a big SHOUT OUT to all my Girls ... I LOVE YOU ALL ....
-
lisamarie - Okay! I will get out of your pocket now. The party was great. So glad you are home and resting and that you did not have to do the IV in the foot.
-
lisamarie. YAY for completing the prcedure with all of us making so much noise. Bet the operating team wondered why your bonnet was moving all around. Rest easy and just for today you and I will not smoke. hugs, Karen
-
Thanks everyone for the 5 year wishes yesterday. I got to spend over an hour talking on the phone with my son. Celebrated by drinking two large glasses of wine as we talked. Oops - not ready to jump up for work today. Now I remember why I'd cut back on the red wine. Jo: I'll be thinking of you Sunday. I remember that one year was really momentous.
-
LisaMarie: Glad your surgery is over & all went well.
Hi to everyone else. Keep rolling - just for today.
-
Rollin!
-
WTG Beckers. How are you feeling? I had another pretty easy smoke-free day.
-
I'm hanging in. Last night had disagreement with DH. Big trigger but did not smoke. You know I am up 5 lbs! Must be metabolism change because I don't think I've been eating that bad. PS is gonna be surprised when I see him one last time before surgery.
-
Oh, and 5 weeks tomorrow! I started counting hours, then days, now weeks. Just realized that.
-
That sounds good Beckers. I really hope we never smoke another one. It actually feels good not to be a slave to those things. I know my cockatiel likes it. I sit on the couch with him for extended periods of time instead of jumping up every half hour or so to go outside to smoke. I do believe that the main thing keeping me on track is my honest-to-God inability to afford the buggers, but whatever the reason, I'll take it. It is freeing and empowering.
-
It is a great feeling to be free for sure! I don't miss going outside, hiding it from coworkers, the smell!
-
Congrats to all of you awesome ladies for quitting. I, on the other hand am still using an e-cig. Can't seem to be able to give it up. Not strong enough to do that when I live with a smoker and work with 2 more. Gonna try and give that up. Not really in a hurry right now.
Happy Sunday!
-
Congrats to both you ladies on your nonsmoking status!
-
Good Morning .. happy Sunday .. I am 3 days out from my exchange surgery ...i hate that im going through the mental nuttiness all over again .. but im not smoking so thats good and soon enough I will have the time I had before without cigarettes.. not to mention .. more time .. so hope everyone is having a good weekend ...
I am going to NYC .. yippeee yankee game ...
-
lisamarie - Enjoy the yankee game and good luck on your exchange surgery.
I am one year smoke free today - yea! Never thought I would say that. Unfortunately for me I am still using my e - cig. Can't help it. This is hard for me living and working with smokers but I am not going to beat myself up over this.
-
yeah JO ... wooo hooo so proud of you Hugs ... Yankee game is tuesday .. going to NYC tomorrow and spending 2 nights ..
so excited ..
-
Way to go lisamarie, the Yakees aree going to win in honor of your non-smoking status. Have a wonderful time in NYC. Karen Jo, no need to even mention the e cig, with 2 smokers around you almost 24/7, it is AOK to use the binkie!! Congrats on a year, you did a great job. hugs, Karen Beckers, five weeks, bet you never thought you'd get there but you DID IT. All because of will power and just for today - I will not smoke. Congrats. dunesleeper, are you at 5 weeks also? If so look at what you two did together!!!! Karen
-
Karen - Thanks for the words of encouragement. There are days that I feel like I am not making progress with the blinkie still around. I do have to admit, it does help. Now, what I have to do is get myself down to no nicotine.
-
Jo, I think I would definitely use the ecig with nicotine if it weren't for upcoming surgery. I do use binky that's nic free and I thank God for it because it got me through some trigger moments and las Vegas vacation. 1 year is awesome!!!
Lisamarie, I'm sorry that you are feeling nutty. That alone is incentive for me. Quitting is so hard. Please ladies don't ever let me forget that! You are going for an outing? Good for you. I hope I have such a smooth recovery.
I got my surgery date of Aug. 9th. I'm having BMX with DIEP reconstruction. Going to be tough. Thinking of having a going away party for the girls. Ha! JK. Ladies night or day out would be fun. Floating down one of those lazy rivers with an umbrella drink would be fabulous. Wish you all could come! -
Beckers - I will be in your pocket on the 9th. You will not be alone during your surgery.
My revision is scheduled for Aug 6th and will be done in the office. I am nervous and excited at the same time. Just want to get this over with and move on.
-
Wow, Aug 6th. Exciting. I am excited too. I've been out of work awhile but getting back to life will be nice. We will wear big pockets to surgery so everyone can come. Wouldn't it be nice.
-
Beckers - I want the spot under that cool looking blue bonnet. Then I will have a great view of what is happening. LOL!
-
Beckers, I'll wait in the room for you to return, Jo can handle the operating room and making sure all goes smoothly. We are getting really good at this surgery thing!!!
