Lol Kat, right on, lots of publicity for your treatment
I would add to "Orac is a drone in the chemical community" a few others, oh, but wait, they are all-in-one package deal
-
Hi Blue, I'm sure Chillipaddi, Wornoutmum, Impositive, Kat, myself and most others targeted now weren't behind any attack on you. Most are stage IV and have enough to cope with. I'm really sorry you copped it, you also don't need to be treated like that. I'm sure at the time it was helpful for you to talk with your friends to deal with it and feel supported.
-
Seriously?
-
Was that because I mentioned some names? (of women I care about) I also empathised with Blue. A very short post for me. This is most disheartening. Please explain mods, I'm baffled and upset.
ETA. Thanks mods, all sorted out now, thanks for your understanding.
-
I didn't even get to see your post Joy and I value everything you say.
I am shaking my head in sadness at this censorship.
-
Hey All,
We are just trying to keep everything respectful and supportive, and away from 'naming names' type of discussions.
Thanks for understanding
-
Joy, I am very sorry about what has happened. You've shown courage and kindness and wisdom here under very difficult circumstances. I'm a fan of yours here, and I have often marveled at how you insert yourself to uphold the right of people to express their views without necessarily endorsing them.
(I know you're not "Leah" - I'm 99 percent sure I know who that is - still posts here under various names, too. I mention this because I want to add strength to your declaration that you are not that poster. For our readers: this is NOT the very nice Stage IV lady we are talking about who goes by that name.)
And for anyone who wonders why we still talk about this, you are welcome to read elsewhere. People have been grievously hurt.
-
Joy,
I just read the entire blog, and I am truly sorry that this happened. The venomous outpouring from someone who I thought was a well respected member here made me feel sick to my stomach. "L'autre endoit"* even has a code of conduct and I am so surprised such language was allowed. No one here at BCO to my knowledge has ever used such hateful language. So sorry.
*French, to avoid the name
-
I am guessing they do not have moderation on that site?
It is wrong to let those words stay on there...
I am sorry for those whose feelings were hurt.
-
Their community manager contacted us via email as a response to our email. We have not heard from him again, but hope to by the end of the week.
-
The private information of members has been removed according to their manager.
-
A quick look at the site shows a facebook address which contains full personal details and photo's of a stage IV member.
-
Then maybe you should contact that member and she can deal with it herself. Really, this needs to stop.
-
Not to be flip, but it sounds like that person needs to up their security settings on facebook. They don't have to be public.

mardibra, you are really intolerant of this subject, aren't you? what does that tell us, let see....nobody is forcing you to read or comment on this thread
How about an emphatic embrace of your sisters who were violated ?

We would like to lock this thread now. Please PM us if you need our assistance on this issue and provide as much info for us as posible to help us help you. We are pleased to help in any way.
Thank you.
