Tomorrow is my follow-up visit from the excisional I had 2 weeks ago.  What has everyone experienced at their visit?  Will they do an US, or just say, "Thanks for coming back", or what?  My derma-strips have fallen off already.  Just curious.  Thanks in advance!

My follow-up was about 5 mins long. My surgeon is truly one of the best, and his bedside manner *during* procedures is wonderful (he exudes confidence) ... however his general manner is... well brusk would barely describe it. Anyway, besides explaing my "follow -up schedule" for the next 5 years, he looked at my healing scar and said, "you can put neosporine on that".

...I just started laughing, I seriously had no idea if that meant "I should" ... is it infected? It looked pretty good to me ; -)

Mine was even shorter.  My surgeon walked in with the pathology results, said "you don't have cancer but you have a couple of high risk factors", "let's regroup in 3 months and decide on whether you get a follow up MRI or mammogram", and then took off the steri strips.  Now she did tell me I could come back again if the knot at the end of the suture bothered me (what??), and then was out the door.  I go back in September...and I've got a few more questions for her...but I found the follow up to be a bit of a non-event.

MoodyMoo, I can't believe you had to wait that long (10 days?) to get your results back!  My path was done in about 5 days, so we had already talked by phone about that ... I would have been a mess waiting for my path results that long!!

It was a bit of a let-down after all the "leading up" to surgery!!  My surgery was pretty extensive - I had a pretty big chunk (5 cm) taken out, along with some chest wall facia, and he sort of "moved some other pieces of breast fat around to make it it look better (my version of what he did, I am sure he had some fancy sort of names for it ;-)) -- but yes, it was a bit of a non-event.

Hope you are doing well!!  Good luck tomorrow akc

Oh the luxury of follow ups.  I had to get the ombudsman onto it, just to get one!

However, once I was there, it was professional and I was satisfied, now am on a three month follow up and have two months to wait.
