U bet sista! It cannot come quick enough.

Chapter4,
I'm so sorry about your job. Will you be offered any severance by any chance?
You should definitely talk to HR about insurance - at my company we pay to continue health benefits for anyone who leaves for 3 months after termination.
You can definitely also do COBRA. For up to 18 months. It's expensive but means you can keep you current insurance.
I personally am ready for 2012 to be over. I keep thinking about New Years' Eve, can't wait to say goodbye to this year!
Rose -
That is a horrible additional burden! I hope you are able to manage that cobra payment. My sis didn't pay much due to the rates being lower now. Part of the stimulous package I think. I think this is going to require as much faith as you can muster.
-
I'm so sorry Chapter4!
-
Being PFC, I started reading the thread about Aromasin etc. OMG! I hope just the people who are having problems are posting, and that there are lots of women out there who DON"T have all the difficulties they describe. Scary for me as I head into that. Trying to just visualize positive experiences.
Chapter 4, so glad you are almost done with chemo. Sending you strength and good luck with this job challenge.
-
I hope so too Lisa. Years ago, I had to take a med for a year that shut down my estrogen to treat endometriosis. It was rough but I made it. My MO said hormone therapy won't be as bad as that.
-
Chapter4, so sorry that happened to you! I am so glad to see that people stepped up right away with advice. I don't have much to add; I think contacting ACS is a very good suggestion. Sending you hugs and strength!
-
Good morning everyone. I am much better except for ongoing fatigue and a couple new mouth sores. My house is being leveled today so wish me luck with the jackhammer! Yesterday I committed to "staying in the moment". Primarily due to my anxiety over my last chemo (excited it's last but #5 was rough). I am reminding myself throughout the day that today is one of the few precious days of my life. "LIVE IT STACIE". And table my fears until the time comes to turn them into courage and get through that last round.
-
Stacie - I work hard on trying to live in the NOW and not worry about the future, too. It's a challenge. I'm trying to make myself think every morning and every evening about how thankful I am for that day - and now that I am PFC - for NOT feeling ill each and every day. I hope I never forget the lessons I have learned from the struggles cancer has put me through.
BTW, what is this about your house being leveled? Did you mention it before? If so, I missed it...what is this about?
-
In TX the heat expands the soil and older slab houses shift so doors dont close you get cracks etc. Fixing it.
-
Phew! When I hear "My house is being leveled," I picture a bull dozer destroying it. I, too, thought I had missed some big announcement. LOL Glad it's only being fixed.
Hang in there, Stacie!
-
Ditto!
-
Oh chapter4.....so sorry about your job.
Hugs to you
Misty
-
OMG, I thought the same thing as fierro about your house stacie! LOL!

I went in to get blood work cause my wc were low last tues. My wc is at 3.13 but I was given the neuprogen shot 3 days last week. So I sb good enough for my last one next week. I was told today that they don't give chemo if wc are below 3.1 & my wc last week be4 chemo was 2.73. Two weeks be4 last week my wc was at 24,000 & 14,000 the time be4 that. My poor body. I just hope my counts straighten out so I can be done on schedule. I also got a bad case of thrush this time, but seems to be improving. I am so ready to be done w chemo.
-
Awh, nofear, I understand! Come on whites! I too felt like I was chewed up and spit out by chemo. It's so hard to hang in there, but ya do what ya gotta do. Hugs!
-
I'm rooting for you Nofear!!
-
Dance - how long post chemo? How u feeling? Since being on taxol I have been very emotional, have yur emotions leveled off any?
-
I will be 4 weeks post chemo on Wednesday. I am feeling MUCH better. A lot more energy, though I do still have to pace myself and definitely am not 100% yet. Believe it or not, I STILL have the oral thrush! Unreal! My whites were still low at the 3 week PFC mark, so I guess they are gonna take their good old time coming around. I see the doc this Wed, so we'll see what he says.
My regimen was TCH, so I never was on Taxol. However, I was very emotional when I was on the steroids, especially after my last chemo. It eased up for me when I got those out of my system. I hope you start to feel better after the Taxol is done!!!
-
Thanks dance I try not to look to forward in the future too far but I am so wanting to feel better. This is the first time my wc were low. If fact they have always been high I guess too high for my onc that is why he switch me to the neuprogen vs neulasta. I would rather have the high wc.
-
Stacie, so glad you are feeling better, and hoping the house repair project goes smoothly!!
I sure hope my white counts bounce back as well as they have before - my WBC was 1.2 on Friday when I had to go to the doctor about the splinter. I should be pretty confident because so far my counts have been well within normal on every tx day, and my upcoming tx is this Thursday, so about a week later; keeping fingers crossed.
Mom and my niece left to go home to Texas today. It was so great to see them both! Just glad we were able to dodge the rains enough for her to enjoy some of Colorado.
-
I understand nofear - I always felt better emotionally and physically when my white count was up. I worried less which made me feel better overall.
Fingers crossed for you Indigo!
-
Dancetrancer, I am almost 3 weeks PFC( really end of round 4) I have been discouraged because round 3 was prettty good and then round 4 was much harder! I got the watery eyes ("tears" running down my face right now), my nails got messed up and very sensitive(though I haven't lost any) my legs are sore and tired for no discernible reason, and my energy is OK for 3 days, crummy for 2, etc. I sure am hoping that a few more weeks will see me picking up.
On the bright side, I have NO thrush now, my feet stopped peeling, I've slept for 2 nights without sleep aids, and I don't have to go in and get more chemo!! Several BCO ladies have said the funky wateryt eyes tend to stop about 6 weeks from last chemo. I hope so!! Plus I have this specialized group to get support from!! gracias a todas
-
So lisa you are just 1 week behind me in terms of PFC. I really have felt a big difference happening after week 3 - many more good days than bad. I might take a step back the next day if I overdo it...but not as severe a step back, if that makes sense. I hope you have the same improvement over this next week!
-
Hello all,
I had round 3 of Taxol today which uneventful.
I broke down after #2 and surprised my kids with a puppy (an adorable Wheaten Terrier). On Saturday night I was taking her out late at night and couldn't see the stairs off the deck. I scraped most of the skin off my right heel, it's really disgusting and was such a stupid mistake. They are definitely worried about it and will be watching it for signs of infection. They also gave me a pretty good lecture about trying to do much which I knows right. I don't know if neuropathy played a role in my injury (most of the numbness I was feeling the week after the last treatment seemed to have resolved itself last week but who knows), but I'm definitely doing to much in the 2nd week after treatment when I feel good.
It was so amazing to think about the fact that I have 1 more treatment left!!! I never thought I would be saying those words when I started in April, it felt so far away. Very exciting.
By the way, I had sort of hoped my hair would be growing back during taxol based on some others' experience but that definitely isn't happening. I still haven't lost all of what I shaved but it seems to still be falling out. I'm much closer to fully bald then I was before taxol started. Sigh.
Good luck to everyone this week! I managed to talk the doc down a bit on steroid levels this time (since the rash stayed away this time!) so I'm hoping my crash is easier this time. Last to e was rough.

Rose hope that heel heals up quickly!!! Wishing you minimal SE's after this round, and yeah for seeing the light at the end of the chemo tunnel...sure does seem dark at the beginning!
-
Rose, sending you big hugs and purple strength. I'm sorry you got hurt.... I hear you on doing as much as you can when you feel good - who doesn't want to do that, right?? Did they give you some antibiotics? Enjoy your new puppy - sure hope he's easy to housebreak! :-) You are getting there with your tx!
-
o no Rose!! Hope it heals quickly!! and yay!! almost PFC!!
-
Rose d - So sorry you got hurt. We had 2 Wheaties for many years and still miss them! They are such wonderful, cute dogs!
-
