i just got done with all my BC tx. Started tamox and effexor in june , so far so good.

I started going to holistic integrated md at johns hopkins. He recommended the following

Resveratrol- i am not sure if i should take this the mskcc says its contraindicated with er + 'bc,,,,

Its similar to red wine, and has anti iinflaamatory and antioxident proprty

NAC antioxident

R alpha lipoic acid antioxident

Mushroom caps my idea think i use reiki

Vit D 4000units day

Fish oil 2000 mg use nordic brand 369

I think i should stop the resverterol. Then i have a green powder that i drink everybmorning.

Maybe i should switch to DIM supplements when it runs out. Then i sometimes have some wheat grass . Froze big batch up using my vitamixer

I have mostly gone organic, no real dairy, but i do keifer and greek yogurt..

My exercize program will start in august. We eat healthy. Almost vegetarian with fish a

I know its a crap shoot, but i want to do every thing i can to prevent it from coming back

Thanks for any replies

    Hi,

FWIW, my integrative oncologist (from Weill Cornell) has me on every single one of the supplements you have mentioned, including the resveratrol.  I am er+ as well, and he never mentioned this as an issue.  I also take DIM, among other additional supplements not on your list (I don't do the wheat grass, however.)

Daily small dose aspirin, IP6, melatonin, metformin, iodine, maitake d extract are some other ideas to look into the merits of.  None of this has been proven to work, but falls into the category of speculative and in some cases under investigation.

So far, I'm on a completely different list, although I've only been to one appointment so far and waiting for blood work to come back before a 2nd appointment.  I am seeing a naturopath in Washington, DC.  I am on high EPA (fish oil), Zyflamend, B6, BComplex, probiotic, magnesium and flax seed.  I will be adding Vitamin D after the next appointment.  She wanted to get some test results first.  Maybe she'll be adding some other stuff too.  I am also on Metformin but not through her.

What is DIM and where do you find it?

    About DIM:  http://www.dimfaq.com/

You can buy it online, or at various health food/supplement stores.
