?'s for anyone in the Phase III Trial of Accelerated Whole Breast Irradiation with Hypofractionation Plus Concurrent Boost. Or Any Canadians that have been through RADS.....

I am looking for any Canadians who have had the 16 days of radiation treatment on the LEFT side at a higher dose. Or anyone in the US that has or is in the process of participating in this study. I understand it is the standard of practice for Canada. I have been offered the US trial & am not sure whether to participate. I am wondering if anyone who has had it done on the left side have had any issues with their heart. I have a slight Mitral Valve issue. I know cumulatively I will get the same amount of Radiation either way. I also know if I participate in this study that I might receive the usual US course of 33 RADS. Just looking for Input from the Trenches!

I am at this hospital and heard about this, though Ihave only right breast problems.

Thanks Akinto....I decided to do the Trial anyway as my BRCA came back negative. I find out next week if everything is a go.

I just joined this trial, but I was randomized to the standard arm. It is saving me from a mastectomy and reconstruction.
