The problem I am having is skin problems I have bad reactions to lots of things my skin is very dry and I try my best to stay hydrated. What I want to know is what is a good way to get the skin back in shape?

Hi Blaze, I used Aquaphor during radiation. It was very very thick and goey, it got on my shirts but it worked really well. After my skin healed from radiation I put on lotion on the radiated side constantly. I finished it May 2011 but I still put lotion on it everytime that I remember (which is not enough)

Can you get Physical Therapy? My PT was able to loosen a lot of skin that got tightened during Rads. Also she explained to me the underneath the skin, my muscles had pretty much stuck to each other and she really had to  work on that.

    Hope this helps.

I had trouble with reacting badly to lotions too.  Vitamin E oil helped.  Just break open the capsule and squeeze it on your skin.  You'll probably need more than one capsule.  It's kind of sticky but it worked for me.  Good luck!

Bio oil. You can buy it at any drug store. It feels wonderful and is non fragrant and most importantly affordable.

When my mom had another type of cancer, not breast, and she was receiving chemo, an aide told me to buy Jergens. After my mom's sponge bath in bed, the aide would put Jergens on her
body. It definitely helped. Her skin wasn't dry and scaly anymore.
