Don't have LE, but just burned my finger on bad side...

I'm trying not to panic, but this is the worst burn I've gotten since my bmx/snb (7 nodes removed). I pressed my finger accidentally on the side of a fry pan while doing a stir fry - just enough to know it was more than a light brush. I couldn't get the water in the faucet cold, so I pressed the finger against an ice pack for about a minute, and then intermittently. THere is a red spot, but it's hard to tell if it's extra sensitive on the skin. So.... is there anything else I can do to reduce my risk of LE? Or is it all really a crap shoot?

    Thanks....

I am sorry you are burned...this has happened to me too. begin right away with hydrating, you want to drink extra fluids to keep the lymph fluid thinner.

    Elevate your arm.

I use "Anti-Microbial Silver Gel"  CVS brand on the burn, and keep it covered. Since you probably don't have that, use a neosporin sort of ointment.

I learned manual lymph drainage (massage) and I do that a few times a day when I have a burn.

Not wearing a bra helps keep lymph moving...hand squeezes with your arm in the air helps move lymph...

I know, a long list, but the good news is I have burned myself many times now (I work with a torch) and I am still doing just fine

    :-)

The most important thing is any redness, soreness, infected looking, fever...see a doctor right away.

Let us know how it goes!

Thank you! At least I have some things I can try. It makes me feel less powerless. It's a really small burn; doesn't hurt. But I've read enough around here to know not to take chances.
