Nofear2012 - July 18th
Mary71 - sorry to hear, u certainly do not need to be dealing w this along w everything else.
Postivityrocks - congratulations on yur baby boy -
I didn't make it all day at work, but I'm thankful that our monthly newsletter is due, which is something I can work on at home. My lower back, hips and legs hurt so bad, I knew I'd never make it 8 hours. I told them I'd work from home and came this way.
The pain pill is helping some, and just being able to adjust positions in the recliner, as opposed to my office chair, is a big help. I was so happy to get past the crash that I forgot what a joy day six could be (not.)
Congrats to all of those done and nearly done. I'm only 1/4 of the way through, and it's getting me down a bit. I'm going to finish getting my work done, have a short pity party, and then get over it. I try to allow them when needed, as long as they don't take over.
Bonus: DS needed a sitter for my 2 yo granddaughter and 5 month old grandson for a few hours. I'm not up to it, but DD is. I'm here for backup, meaning I get to sit back and enjoy the fun stuff without any of the work.
Pity party may have to be delayed until the cute factor evacuates the premises.

I had my first Taxol treatment last Thursday and I felt great on Friday. I got my Neulasta shot that day. Then Saturday hit and everything went to hell. My legs ache so bad! When I stand up they feel very weak and I have to get my bearings before I start walking. I don't know if the pain is from the Neulasta or the Taxol. I had 4 Neulasta shots before with no side effects at all. I feel so discouraged because I thought this chemo was going to be easier than the AC. It is, in that I don't have nausea, so I guess I should be thankful for that. But I feel like a mac truck hit me! And I have a UTI on top of all of it, (third one since April 4), so my back hurts from that. Okay, I just needed to vent. I knew you all would understand!
-
mcm24: feel better soon
Positivity: Congrats! I bet he's a beautiful little boy!
Dance: Thanks again for all your insight and knowledge. (carb cravings)
Fierro: I hear ya--I thought I would work today and didn't.
Stacie: 6/28/12.

Thank you ladies for all the well wishes for baby Ethan and I. The love and support on here is really amazing....even when those physically around you aren't. Guess only those in the sisterhood could only truly understand and appreciate what we go thru.
Hugs to all. -
Positivity - congrats! May your little one give you more joy than you have ever experienced!
-
WOW..Hello to Ethan..congrats...was worried about you and him..Glad to know he arrived safe and sound..
-
@ Stacie - KJLiberty is done chemo too. Are her and Dance the only 2 done already? seems like there was someone else.
-
-
@mcm - I hope you feel better soon. I'm doing TC with Neulasta these last 2 rounds and have that same jelly leg weakness so I don't know if it's the Taxotere or the Neulasta or the combination. It's usually just a day or two if that helps.
-
Positivity--congratulations on the birth of baby Ethan!!
stacie--mary71 last visit to BGC on 7/17
Thank you all again for your support....I think I'll probably keep my mouth closed for a bit(he doesn't know that I've caught on) just to get through treatment. Once I'm back to work and stronger will be the time for the big boot.
-
Happy dance for Karen and Dance! Who's next!?
and for Positivity for a whole different reason!
-
and for Mary. If you need any help with the big boot there's lots of us sisters within driving distance!
-
Love the snoopy and the BOOT!! You made me smile
-
mary71- I'm sure all of us wil be more than happy to help give your boot that extra umphhhh when the time comes!!!
-
Isharvey: Love both pics!
-
Love the Boot - take good care Mary at this difficult time. Thinking of everyone in the BGC this week and sending healing thoughts. My girlfriend gave me a cookbook called 'Goes Down Easy - Recipes to Help You Cope With the Challenge of Eating During Cancer Treatment' Elise Mecklinger; The Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation. Now if only she had cooked the meals I may have eaten after my last taxotere treatment June 15th - a little malnourshed and dehydrated since. Now can't get enough Mango and Mango Juice++++. Early days I could stomach nothing but yogurt, milk/choc milk mixed, and baked potatoes. Now can't even imagine taking a drink of milk:) I do have neuro symptoms still, twitch eyes, insides, feet, tingly fingers and toes - but do take the supplements described above and hopefully will improve soon. Herceptin on Friday and then off for a week of holidays. Take care, vjm xoxo
-
Thanks Dance I will try it.
-
Isharvey, GREAT pics. Loved em.
Mary, hang in there. Something/someone far better waits ahead.
Hope you gals who sat in the BGC today enjoy a great evening and good night's sleep, and that tomorow is good as well.
I go to the BGC myself tomorrow AM. Not dreading it as much as first time, but still . . . Thanks to all you well wishers for those of us who are doing that visit this week.
Mistyim, I had shingles on my face about 6 years ago. The worst symptoms lasted about 2.5 weeks, but I had little nerve twinges in that area for about a year after. Don't know if that helps cause I really do think your situation is different as you were on chemo when you got it. Go get the shot as soon as they allow it. I got it a year later and so far so good.
-
Several weeks ago, I ordered a headscarf from www.goodwishesscarves.org. You choose 3 fabrics that you like and they send you one. It is very pretty and came with a swarovski angel on one of the tails, as well as a card of well wishes from the entire staff. It is amazing that there are so many good people out there.
-
Marcia: Thanks. Will have to check it out.
VJM: I have the eye twitches as well and have been stuck on mango juice as well.
Gemmie: Sending you hugs tomorrow.
-
Saturn, I think you're good getting rads. That's the exact info they gave me. Im 41. I was told that if I was 75 or 80, they probably wouldn't. But he wants to get me to 80! I told him that the women in my family live to be 90-100, so Ive got bigger goals!
Vball, hope your last AC is a good one. Mine was just more tired. Im 12 taxol too so Im just 2 weeks ahead of you. Im in for a facebook page. Ill makr one if noone else has done it when I get to the end here. I know some may want to stay anonymous and thats fine. But, I have so many people thank me for having my own cancer updates page. My facebook name is Sandi Fischer Korshnak.
Cottontail, hang in there
positivity, yay! Congrats. So happy for you. Glad you and baby are good!
Mary, focus on you! Not him. Nothing is your fault! -
Sandi - I just friended you. If anyone wants to friend me, please send a private message as I'd like to keep anonymous here but would be happy to connect.
What shall we call our group? The Big Girl Chair?
-
Wow Melrose! I find myself doing the exact same thing when I look at other women going on with their lives so carefree, I ask myself the same exact questions you do! There is no jealousy on my part that it's not me wearing the cute summer clothes and sporting the nice tan, because I would be doing the same thing if I were not in treatment. I can now say I am thankful for what I am going through and I know it is going to change me, hopefully for the better and not take life for granted for the rest of my time here on this earth. Much love to all the ladies here, I read this thread everyday, even though I don't post often, but know I pray for each one of you as I read what you are going through. My next trip to the BGC is next Tuesday, so remember me!
peace and love to all!
-
I'm in! Hey thanks Sandi, did you make it private?
-
Mcm, are you taking clairitin for the bone pain?
Fierro, hang in there sister!! You can do it! You will do it! You are on round 2, half way there right? I never counted what was next. Just what you are currently doing. Makes it seem easier!
Gemmie and anyone else doing the chair tomorrow, good luck.
I did fine today. Man that benadryl puts me right out! Haha slept like a baby! Went to work after and have been good since. -
Oh! I made the facebook page. You can click the link here, if I can do it right, or search for me on facebook 'Sandi Fischer Korshnak" or PM me and I'll add you.
vball....I added you. Group page is closed. That means people can search and find it. But they can't get in without approval. They can't see what's being posted. The other option is secret, but that means you wouldn't be able to search for it. I can change the privacy. Just let me know what you'd rather.
-
Sandi i would love to join a Facebook group! I will try to find you on Facebook and send you a friend request. My name is Lisa.
