Does the pain from bone mets come on suddenly?

Just wondering if anyone could tell me if the pain from bone mets comes on suddenly or gradually.

    I have a single bone met and never had any pain at all. Caryn

    It seems like many of us have no pain at all from our bone mets (I have 4 or 5 in my spine that don't hurt aside from some very mild achiness once in a while).  That being said, I think others have sudden pain if their bone mets result in a fracture (i.e. broken rib or compression fracture in the spine).  I think that would cause sudden and severe pain.
