grrr sleeve order
My LE therapist wrote up the order for a custom sleeve, sent me over with the order to the place that does ordering. I paid them their deposit, dropped off the order, was assured they'd have it in 10 working days or less. 20 working days later, still no sleeve. Did the elf that was knitting it break a wrist or what? They assured us it's been ordered. LE called the company and they have no record of the the order. So. GRRRRR. They are going to screw around with this and we are going to end up rolling into the next insurance year and I'm going to be so very unhappy. As it is, I've met my oopm and this should be totally covered. I realize it's petty compared to what some people deal with but. GRRRR!

Cindyl - I am grr-ing right along with you. With my first order, the DME woman didn't submit the order until I called (she said she had been sick). When I hadn't gotten the sleeve in 3 weeks I called the DME woman who discovered the manufacturer hadn't begun the order. By the time it came, it was too big.
Second order also didn't even begin to get processed until I called (this time I was told it was "insurance clearance). It's bad enough that we have to pay for and wear the damn stuff, but the waiting is ridiculous. I was especially ticked off because my therapist and I placed the order when we did to ensure that it would arrive in time so I wouldn't have to give a major talk wrapped like a mummy. But I did ... Cindy, grrrrrrrrrrrr!
And thanks for the reminder that it's time to email my fitter and remind her I'm still sitting here waiting. I'm hoping yours arrive in time to make it under the deadline, and that they fit like a dream. Let us know!
Hugs,
Binney -
Thanks ladies! It's strange to be so po'd about not getting something I really don't want... But there it is...
-
Nah--not really wanting it makes it just that much worse to be hassling with it!
It's like they should be GIVING these things to us, along with a few well-chosen words of comfort and encouragement. And of course some brownies and a bouquet of gerbera daisies in several glowing colors.
Brownies and flowers to you!
Binney -
Ain't that the truth. mmm brownies!

The sleeve came! Amazing! it got here before the end of the insurance year (Saturday) and before my LE PT takes her week off. She will see me tomorrow and show me how to put it on, so on to the next step.

Cindyl -- that's great. Fingers crossed that it fits well. KS1

Oh. Well I suspect that might be too much to hope for.
-
It fits! So, wearing the sleeve and gauntlet. Hope it helps.
