Your TX plan for IBC

Most of the plans I see posted for IBC are different than mine was.

I did 4 DD A/C, surgery, 12 weekly Taxol and 25 rads in that order. On Femara/letrozole since 2 weeks after last Taxol. I was told that would do chemo (A/C) first to get it to form a lump and get margins for surgery. Did and had good margins in surgery. Then Taxol to get what else was still there 'hiding somewhere' that surgery could not get. Then rads.

Made sense to me - hit it, get it out and then hit anything still there AFTER the cancer area(s) had been removed. But it seems from posts that most are doing 2 different chemos before surgery and then to rads.

Thoughts?

I had 4dd A/C, 8 single Taxol, 3.5 Taxotere, Bilateral MX & ALND, 25 Rads, 5 Boost. Since I was triple negative, I've had no other active treatment.  So far, so good!

I had 12 taxol/herceptin, UMX, 4 dd A/C and now on to rads either 25 or 30 treatments depends on whether they decide to do boosts) .  And becasue I am Her2+ I will continue herceptin until I have a total of 52 treatments. The herceptin is now triple dosed every 3 weeks and I will finish in February 2013

I am getting htere and very hopeful

    8 TCH every 3 weeks

continued Herceptin every 3 weeks untill 11/12

fairly extensive surgeries 4/12, declared NED

    rads just finished 7/9/12

    anastrozole (Arimidex) starting today 7/10/12.

I don't think any one treatment plan is better or worse than another.  It depends on more that just the BC type or stage.  It also considers overall health, age, tolerance levels and a lot of other factors.

    I dont
