MSM
Do any of you ladies take this supplement? I have started taking this week, as it's supposed to help with skin, hair, nails, and joint pain. I have had the big D with it initially, but have heard it takes a few days to adjust to the supplement. Please share any stories you might have here.
Thanks!

My older sister has been using it faithfully for years and she is in her 50's and has never had a hot flash. She swears by it!

So, I am on day 5 of MSM. Still having a bit of D, but have noticed a nice glow around the skin. I'll continue, but if the D doesn't go away after week 2, will probably discontinue. My friend takes it, and her hair and skin are so vibrant, almost glowing. She tells me it helps tremendously with joint soreness.

I have been taking MSM and glucosamine since I started Arimidex 7 months ago. Don't know about benefits to my hair or skin but I had little joint achiness in the beginning and it is completely gone now. I have had no digestive issues. Hope yours go away soon. Caryn

I am not sure about MSM by itself but, in some formulations of glucosamine, HA (hyaluronic acid) is also in added. From what I have been reading, this is NOT a good idea for cancer patients. Google it and see what I mean.

Hi Elimar,
I could not find what you referenced save for something on myeloma.
Can you provide the link ? Thanks, Caryn -
Hi, I take MSM. There is an emergen-c packet that also contains 1000mg of Vitamin C, with the MSM. I mix it with water and drink up! I do lots of hot yoga that causes major loss of fluids, minerals etc. Once I started taking this, I feel I recover much quicker from each class. They actually sell this at the yoga studio, but I get it at Whole Foods.
There are quite a few very positive googleable studies on MSM, DMSO and breast cancer....all kinds of cancer for that matter!! -
exbrnxgrl, About six months ago, I read several articles online, similar to this:
http://www.denvernaturopathic.com/news/hyaluronicacid.html
However, when looking for them today, I also saw info. of this type:
http://www.askanoncologistnow.com/cancer/question/ind_b_all.php?xq=177&usage=Previous%20Btn
So, it seems that in B/C patients there is an over-expression of the HA made by the body, which increases the invasive factor of the cancer, BUT the supplements should be safe to take. Sorry for the confusion/misinformation/poor interpretation. My bad. I'm kind of glad I was wrong, because I bought a bottle of glucosamine with HA by mistake, so I guess I can use it now.
