Elevated ldh on bloodwork

Options

I had my yearly bloodwork done and they found decraesed red blood cells and increased ldh numbers. Doctor oredered a retest for a month later. That blood work showed the same thing except the ldh was even more elevated. They said they would start with the easiest test first and that is an ultrasound of my liver. What I am wondering is if that turns out ok what will the next step be. I know its a long shot that I might find someone here that had the same thing I am just going crazy looking for information. Thanks in advance,

Jackie

Hmm, I didn't have decreased RBCs, but I did get a liver US when I had increased LDH along with increased liver panel profiles (ALT, Alk. Phos). It showed I had developed fatty liver disease, a kind of pre-diabetes with increased risk of heart problems. I'm on Niaspan and Metformin now and the numbers are back down within normal limits again. I blame Tamoxifen, as that's a known side effect. I'm now on Arimidex as well. Hope this helps!
