Wow ks, that is a lot of hair...beautiful! How far PFC are you?
-
ksmatthews
Wow, look at those bangs!!! You look great!!
-
oooh me too I pet my fuzzies all day long. just so happy to have something. my husband chides me, guess he is afraid they will rub off. gues they could, everything is so fine, but it feels nice. pet pet pet.
But I agree completely with the above statements, nature will take its course. None of these fancy products is going to make it come faster. save your money and just try to wait. it will come.
-
ksmatthews, you look great! you can really run your fingers through that hair! ooh i cant wait until i am like you!
-
I am almost 1 year pfc. I have had 3 trims since my hair started growing.
-
ksmathhews - beautiful!
-
KS Mathews, you look gorgeous!
-
Thank you all so much for the sweet comments!
-
I pet my head too LOL!! Pet, pet, pet... Agree with everyone else where I don't think any over the counter shampoo will help. I find if I take pics along the way it helps me to see some progress. Its even more filled in then when I posted about 10 days ago.
-
I think it will just take time, sucks because I am NOT a patient person! LOL I keep trying to picture myself with short short hair and how I am going to rock that style!
MLB - I pet and rub my head all the time - just habit I guess, or checking for growth!
-
KS
Awesome! You look great!
I'm almost 3 months out, so definitely looking forward to that milestone. -
ksmatthew.. looking good.. your hair looks beautiful as do you.. Look forward to my hair being that length.. My hair is "long" enough that it looks like a haircut.. woohoo.. Now if both sides of my head would only agree curly or not curly... Redheads are know to be stubborn, but my hair being stubborn and not agreeing with itself is ridiculous
Half head curly other half straight
-
KS--you look great!
-
Ossa, I have the one side curly, one side straight thing going too. The top is fairly straight, but will wave if I let it. I addressed it by getting and keeping the sides cut very short while the top grows out and thickens. It's much more manageable this way and I like it. I'm 6 1/2 months PFC and it is finally starting to return to it's normal texture (losing the hamster fur!) and getting more shine. The back and sides are pretty much their normal thickness, but the top right side of my hair has a thin spot that is maddeningly slow to fill in. My haircutter assures me that she can see new growth in there so I'm trying to be patient.
-
auntienance.. thank you,, was startng to think I was the only one with this wacky hair
ks.. at least your hair is the same on both sides
-
ksmatthews, You and your hair both look wonderful.
-
KS - very cute style and great smile. You look fabulous!
-
KS - you look fabulous! Is your hair naturally straight, or did you style it that way?
-
Hello all,
It 's two weeks ago today since tx #1. Hair coming out in clumps now. Tomorrow I go in for the buzz. I'm actually eager to get there. This hair falling out all over my house is very annoying, especially in my kitchen! Am wearing a sleep cap right now just to keep the fall out under control.
Will take pics before and after. Big day tomorrow! -
News flash....very excited cancer patient here....I whipped off my wig when I got home and, yes, it's official...I have hat head! yippeeeeee!!!!!!!!
-
Gemmie, it is a big day. I know what you mean about being eager to get it done. My thoughts are with you! Its not all bad, showers take a lot less time... It is a sign that those medications are working too.
Mardibra! Congrats that's a milestone! -
Thank you all so much!
It is straight on top and sides, I do take a flat iron to it to tame it a little. The back is super curly and I can't do anything with it.
I feel great!
-
KS--Was it at all curly before it fell out?
Gemmie: Having no hair can be quite liberating. YOu will know what I am talking about once it's gone. Like JPmomof3 states, showers are faster, you get ready to go places quicker, etc. I try to think "above the line' as much as I possibly can. Busy making lemonade from lemons.
-
Ksmatthews, its so good to see how great your hair looks 1 year pfc. Thanks for posting pic. Gives me hope - that could be my hair by february.
-
Good luck Gemmie, you'll do great
I couldn't agree with kj more...it felt liberating to me too. I also figured it was gonna fall out, so make some margaritas with those lemons. I've realized that after having long hair my whole life, I was too chicken for change. Now I get to see what my hair looks like at every length. Who knows, I might not want it long again.
Mardi, good for you!
ks, lookin good
-
Stjude, that was me. I had ALWAYS had long hair, and it was very thick. Even hair dressers wouldn't cut it short, because it was "too nice."
Now I am loving having short hair and so happy I finally got to try it. Most likely I will keep it short. -
Soltantio, sorry you have to go through chemo too. You are doing a different set of drugs than I did. I knew that there was a 100 percent likelihood of losing my hair with the Adriamycin and cytoxan that I started with. As soon as I saw it starting to fall out I had my husband buzz it to stubble length. That way is was the one who decided when the hair went and not the chemo. Unfortunately I have not heard of any treatments that prevent hair loss if its going to happen. Once I accepted that I was going to lose my hair I planned and even looked forward to it in a way. It meant that I was under way with treatments and killing the cancer.
-
jpm...ditto...was anxious to get the show on the road!
-
I agree jpmom about taking things in your own hands. It felt like I was in control. I cut my hair and donated it to locks of love right before starting chemo. Wanted to have a bit to get used to it short. When it started falling out, it came out fast. About every couple hours, my dh would take me outside and remove the clumps on my shoulders. After 2 days of that, I shaved it.
