Sister has surgery tomorrow

Hi, my Sister is having a Lumpectomy tomorrow. She will go back to my Parent's house after surgery.
My question is..... is there anything she needs or we can do for her post surgery? Is there something you wished you had thought of and wished you had once your loved one was out of surgery recovering? I am trying to be proactive and any and all suggestions will help us.
Thanks a million!
Tess
For those of you who responded on an earlier post, thank you all. I am sorry to not have responded back, I'm just swamped trying to take care of my 2 yr old and 3 family members with cancer. I'll be around more later, but have taken each post to heart and pray for you and your families.

My wife came home and slept a lot. The one thing handy was having several pillows so she could wedge herself into a comfortable position and couldn't roll into a painful or uncomfortable spot on the surgery site or the drain.

Thank you for the suggestion! I will make sure we have a lot of pillows. I hope your wife is doing well.

Stunned,
Things I wish I had known I needed:
1. very supportive bra that DOESN'T have to go over the head; also best if it closes in the front because reaching around to your back is mighty hard.
2. loose shirts that close in the front
3. also: easy to get into pajamas, again with open front and I wanted elastic waistband
I had to go shopping the day after my surgery, and it was really hard to try on bras so soon after surgery.
Best of luck to your sister,

Things that helped...
Make sure someone goes and fills rx's for pain meds asap
take pain meds even if pain is not bad( it is hard to get it under control once it gets going)
have some senacot on hand (the pain meds cause constipation) light meals crackers , broth, jello
on hand for upset tummy.
Sister also had lots of pillows and easy jammies to put on so she did'nt have to raise her arms over her head
no elastic in arms loose and comfy.
REST REST REST.....
Hugs,
Carrie
