    Well.............the final diagnosis?

I have Valley Fever (a Sonoran Desert Dweller thing) I must have gotten it while my immune system was low back when I was on chemo/herceptin. I look back now and I can nearly pinpoint when I felt I was feeling unwell and not getting better anymore. Back in October of '11. I see the infectious diseases doctor next month and I am on an anti fungal as well. I will also have a lumbar puncture before I see the doctor.

I suppose most people would be so upset to hear they have Valley Fever. I on the other hand view it as a major inconvenience and with treatment I will be cured.  If I was given the Lung Cancer diagnosis as they originally thought, the outlook wouldn't look as bright from where I'm sitting right now  :)

Amazing how our perspective changes, isn't it? Now we think, "Oh, it's just _____ - I can handle that." So glad it was not lung cancer!

Over the last couple of months I have noticed the following symptoms:

Abdominal pressure, fullness, swelling or bloatingPelvic discomfort or painPersistent indigestion, gas or nauseaChanges in bowel habits, such as constipationChanges in bladder habits, including a frequent need to urinateLoss of appetite or quickly feeling fullIncreased abdominal girth or clothes fitting tighter around your waistA persistent lack of energyLow back pain

I am very concerned. Has anyone had metastasis to their ovaries from stage 3C? And did you have these symptoms beforehand. I have my scans coming up in two days. I am so scared.

    Hi srb162

I have noticed some of the symptoms myself (and have a history of ovarian cancer in my family). As you have had these symptoms for a few months - you really need to get it checked out. But, however much our minds jump to mets - just remember that we can suffer from benign conditions too! As for me - my pancreatic enzymes were found to be abnormal (amylase only). They thought I had gallstones but an ultrasound ruled this one out. So, I am due to have an endoscopy and they will go right down to my small intestine. Fun! But hopefully I will get some answers to my back pain / upper adbominal bloating etc (much the same symptoms as you have). Until the tests are complete, I have tried to help myself with diet and I have cut down fats as much as possible. It really helps! I am not sure what is causing your pains and I am not saying we are suffering from the same thing - but please go to the doctors and report your symptoms because they do need investigation. I think, with our BC history, we need to listen to our bodies and know when things are just not right and act on it. All the best to you and let us know how you get on Smile. Karen X

    Hello everyone,

I wanted to let you guys know about some of my scans. CT's were ok, bone density showed osteopenia. I had my bone scan today, a little concerned. I peeked at the photos while it was being done. My whole pelvic area was lit up like a white Christmas tree!! I was pretty ill the last time I had one so I don't remember how it looked then. My doctors appointment is on Monday and I will get my CA-125 results then, but it seems like I am heading down that long hard road again. Any thoughts? What else could make the pictures so bright!!!!! Un@&#%ingbelievable!

    Sharon,

I have absolutely no clue. But I will tell you to please not think the worst until they give you reason to. I was sooooo damn convinced I had lung cancer. Heck, after my CT scan my ONC was even convinced I had metastasis to the lungs.  Try to take deep breaths. Easier said than done, I know!

    Please keep us updated.

    Hugs XXX

I must sound like a crazy person. I used to work at a cancer center for 10 years. I don't know if that's good or bad sometimes. All we can do is pray on it. Thanks

    Sharon,

No, not crazy. You have reason to worry as did I. We live with a constant reminder that at anytime in our lives we can get another "bad" call again. A lot of us have become super sensitive to our bodies and not brush things off like we used to.

Always here to listen even if I don't have the answers

    Nora
