The simplification of life is one of the steps to inner peace.
A persistent simplification will create an inner and outer well-being
that places harmony in one's life.

Terry, welcome to the Illinois Ladies thread. Glad you found us, but wish it was a better reason. I think you are probably closest to Rita. She is in Bloomington.
Diane --- keep taking those baby steps and hopefully they will lead to enough comfort to get you where you would like to be. It is VERY daunting to be hairless. Some handle it very well, others like me were resigned and some struggle the whole time. I did feel resignation because I did see it as temporary......what I had to do and get through to help save my life. When you are in circumstances that you don't see as favorable time goes a bit slow in some parts and so it was with the hair for me............but it comes back and you'd be amazed at how "soon" you'll have bad hair days again -- but they will be joyous bad hair days.
Until then.....you have something you can do to help you get well --- you have to lose some for awhile so you can "gain" for a long time.
It's ugly hot here.....we sure need rain and more heat on the way. I think we are gong to have to start watering just to keep the dust down. So we continue on with the weird weather patterns. Maybe a new normal is trying to come out of that. Sigh !!!!!
Hope you all have a beautiful Sunday.
Hugs, Jackie

Hi Terry. I am about an hour south of springfield on interstate 55.

ATeamNana.....I knew there were some others.......but I was a blank. Rita.....can you believe it Page 800, and almost 24,000 entries. Just amazing. Look what happens when someone is sleepless.

Ady, Adey, Adey-so sorry you're hurting. Don't over do it in Vegas, hopefully you'll be back to your training very soon-maybe just bring it down a notch.
Diane-I remember the American Cancer Society showing wigs and one of the options was a "hair halo". You could wear it with a hat or scarf and it would look like hair, but not as hot as a full wig. This may be an option. Exercising is so key to feeling good-I hope you find a solution so you can stay active.
Heading to the pride parade today-we need rain so badly I wouldn't mind if it rained on the parade though.
Have a great day everyone-sending out a gigantic {{hug}}

Hi girls!
Welcome to our newbies!!!! Hugs and glad you found our little IL group! You are among some wonderful ladies here

Madisonsmommy: How was the Relay for Life? I want details...where have you been????
Robo - Hair update please. How is it coming in? Any better than last time we talked? I am crossing fingers but I do have to say you look so adorable in your hats:)
Adey: I hope you have some good luck in Vegas and remember, what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas! Have some fun! HOpe you are in less pain. We still need to schedule our workout when you are up for it!
Quick shout out to the rest of you gals! HOpe you are all getting ready for the 100 degree heat wave this week. Yikes!
I have been doing home improvements all week. I am beat! I painted three rooms and am trying to get them back together again. Why do I choose to tackle these projects when my son is out of school???? Silly me.
Have a peaceful Sunday evening:)

Hi All, its been a while since I checked in I guess I've been too busy playing words with friends. I should say losing at words with friends....lol.
isn't it about time for maggiano's lunch?? -
Hello everyone-
I have been finished with treatment since Sept. 2010 and I cannot tell you how lucky each one of you are that you have found this board. I would give anything to have known this was here when I was in treatment. Just to know we are not alone and that life does continue is an amazing thing when we are in the middle of such an overwhelming situation.
Have a good night, Kelly
-
Kelly: There's not a day that goes by that I don't thank my lucky stars for these forums. I don't know how I could through it without these ladies, who have become my friends. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! Karen

Keep the faith, don't lose your perseverance and always trust your gut extinct.
Paula Abdul -
Good morning . Kelly & Karen, it is how we all felt, and still do. I had no idea of the 'great' numbers of people with this disease and being able to exist side by side and share daily life with so many that did made everything so much more bearable, took out so much of the fear and dread, and most importantly gave me the faith to keep moving forward when any truly HARD or HARSH times reared their not so pretty head. I kept going for me, but I had all the women here to keep going for too.
I wanted to be as strong, and positive as they were and though I probably would have made it anyway..........they all made it so much easier for me to do so. They were a shining light in the darkness, a huge helping hand and I have stayed here in gratitude......hoping to help someone else on the journey no one wants to take.
Hope Monday is grand for all of you. You are all a constant positive affirmation to me that life indeed gets so, so good.
Hugs, Jackie

Hi ladies, I know that Corinne and Adey have mentioned a get-together with out-of-town ladies on July 21st. We ‘out-of-town' ladies would also like to extend a personal invitation to all of you. Several of us from the ‘Lets Post Our Daily Exercise' thread are meeting for a long weekend in The Windy City; me (North Dakota), hbcheryl (California), badger (Wisconsin), and WellWater (Indiana) will be meeting up with Corinne, Adey and, hopefully, YOU for some fun on Saturday July 21. Here is what we have planned:
Corinne has made reservations at the Greek Islands in Greek Town at 5:00. After cocktails and dinner we plan to head for the Summer Dance at Grant Park (free lessons from 6-7, live music & dancing 7:30 - 9:30). Then we would like to invite everyone back to our hotel for drinks & laughs (I don't suppose I should say the name of the hotel for internet safety purposes, but we are downtown and not far from Grant Park).
We hope you can join us for any or all of the evening!!! (I believe Corinne is your Illinois contact person).
-
OMG Ruth I would love to finally meet you. I might be out of town that weekend.
-
Lago, stay in town!
-
But mom & dad hasn't seen me since last August!
-
I will PM you.

I think I have been on here before, but can't find me so maybe I haven't---WHY/// I don't know --I'm from Wheaton, IL Just moved from Lombard ad I was there forever. But it's nice here and now I'm living with my dgtr and family. Thank God they are wonderful to me or this would be a disaster LOL I got out of the hospital last week so I'm still kind of shaky---I had my eyes closed in the amubulance and all of a sudden I saw a white light and said Mom I'm coming--and the para-medic said I just pit a flashlight in u'r eye. Anyway I'm home now and I'm just 3 mins. from the hospital--what a way to think hahaha
And thanks for reminding us it's going to be boiling hot this week, right now it's beautiful windows open
I'm sure I have written here before but my memory is not so good--I hope u have a good day everyone.
-
Oh Ruthbru-I am sooo sorry I'm going to miss your visit and meeting you and other bco'rs. Make sure someone takes pictures-it sounds like a fun day.
-
camillegal it's not your time to go. Thanks for popping in. Now that you life so close to the hospital I bet you won't get anymore scares like that. Murphy's law right?
-
Ruth - yes, I would like to join you. Please keep me updated.
-
Hello ladies - I am having tx #4 this Thursday. I am keeping fingers and toes crossed for an easier SE this time around.
As for the get together in July, I won't be able yo join all you lovely ladies. I will be having my 5th tx two days before the outing. I hope one day to get to meet all of you in person. You have been wonderful and I appreciate each and every one of you. -
Thank u ladies, I don't know why I wasn't here sooner, I thought I was oh well. I pit this on my fav. list so for sure I can keep up with everyone.
-
Ruth....I'm too far away to come, but it sounds like a great deal of fun -- I'll be with you in spirit though.
Camillegal....for some reason your name sounds familiar. I think you may have been here once and lost us. We get very chatty.....and many pages go by really, really quick. Glad you have us in favorites now. Glad you are with your loved ones and practically on the hospital steps at the same time. Supremely comforting I would say.
Warmish here, but the woods always seem so much cooler than in town.
Roula...I too hope you get mild se's out of this one on Thursday.
Hope you all have a great day.
Hugs, Jackie
-
Roula: I will be thinking of you as I sit in the chair (virtually) beside you!
-
Thank you Karen - I am a little nervous this time. My SEs have been different with each round, very strange.
