Some of you might know me well enough to recall that I am a dedicated bike geek, through and through.

I spent 20 years racing road, mountain and cyclo-cross bikes and worked for a national cycling magazine, even covering the Tour de France and other international races, for 17 years.

Well, I was diagnosed with breast cancer last summer and went through a double mastectomy and months' worth of chemo. Fortunately, we guys don't have to worry too much about "reconstruction" issues, so I expect to remain nipple-less for the rest of my days.

I arrived at the office this morning to find the perfect t-shirt waiting for me in my mailbox:

I like the shirt.  My friends keep giving me pink "Save the TaTa's" bracelets.

"Save the Ta-Tas"? For a guy? How weird. Personally, I love your board name - that should be on a t-shirt! Your signature would make a great t-shirt also. Although only wear them when you're in the mood to educate folks. :)

It's more of a joke that they get to give me something pink.  I'm NOT a pink kind of guy and we all laugh that I would get breast cancer which is symbolized by a pink ribbon.
