Does "older" mean 67?

Options

I am 67 and can't seem to find a place to "land" on these boards. I think that we older women have different issues in how we react to surgery. Also I know we react differently to chemotherapy because I have met younger women in my oncologists office who breezed through it and I am still plodding along even though my last chemo was almost 3 weeks ago. For instance my ankles just became swollen for the first time and I am supposed to be done. And I am at my weakest point in chemo now! I will be going for 28 radiations starting next week. And I have to start Femara in two weeks and it scares me to death. It said something about hair loss and I didn't even start to get mine back yet.

So if anyone wants to talk and exchange information, I would love it

Welcome to BCO! I'm 63 and I go all over these boards. Haven't had chemo, but I seem to have had fewer SEs from radiation and hormonal therapy than many younger women. You might want to try a thread called For Older People With More Sense. : )

I'm not 67, but that isn't old. We all handle the chemo differently. For me it was a nightmare. In fact my Onc. stopped after the first trearment and said no to any more. I tried Femara, but that was also really not for me, broke out in eczema all over. I do have meds for the eczema, but it was unable to handle it so was given a steroid shot. This isn't to scare you in any way just to let you know it's not your age we all are different it's just what it is. I'm on another Al now and am doing fine with it.
