The Living Life Hang Out
A final landing spot for a group of women undergoing chemo treatment in early 2012 so that after our unique treatment paths may scatter us temporarily post chemo, we can stay connected as a hang out group and continue our support in our futures.

I'm moving over from March/April TCx4,
I had my last treatment 5/24 and have been waiting to start rads-33 treatments. Since my last TC my feet and ankles have been swollen and my white and red cell counts have been low. No rads until white count returns to normal. MO & RO are surprised it has taken so long for counts to return to normal. Yesterday I broke out with pimples on my face. Anyone else have this problem? I blame everything on chemo!
Yesterday my RO called and decided I will start my rads 8/13 after I return from vacation. I think I just got a reprieve for the summer, although now my treatments will go through the end of September.
Peach fuzz is coming in and its as white as can be. Wonder why? I think all the stress and worry they put us through scared the color right out of my hair follicles!!!!

Summer51: I have my last TC x 4 today (yeah!). Anyway, white peach fuzz is setting on top of my head too and growing pretty quickly. My brown hair (and I am sure, gray as well) is growing, but it's the peach fuzz that wants to take over. I think it's pretty typical. Lots of ladies on this forum have had problems with breakouts as well. I am sure it's another wonderful side effect. No pimples for me--just hives all over my body for the past month.

So glad to heae about hair action on your heads! I srill have today then one more round in 3 weeks. I am psyched to see my hair. Maybe a cute close cut boy look by xmas.

I had my last treatment 5/31 and started rads x15 treatments this week. Today was #4! 11 to go and maybe, just maybe I will get my life back!!

Welcome Janie. We also have a "hang out" group for people going through RADS this summer. We are trying to stay connected through our various treatmens following chemo and all land here in the end. Welcome to our future life.

Janie: Is your hair starting to grow back? I just finished my 4/4 of TC today and have long strands of clear hair on my head. I also have some brown hair growing back too. Don't know if any will fall out after this last round. My RO appt is on 7/12.

Where is your "hang out" for rads? Which thread? I have 33 treatments to look forward to and would like to interact with the ladies who are doing the same. My TCx4 friends got me through chemo and I am forever greatful for their support. Could not have done it without them.
