I have developed 4 IBC Symptoms within the last week!
Tell me what you all think and if I should force my mammogram before Aug 5th. I am 43 years old and the Dr. has been doing mammogram's every 6 months but I skipped the last one. I have fibercystic breast disease and very lumpy bumpy breast.
Sat. or Sun. I found three very hard bb type bumps.
Monday. My left breast was 1" larger than right and sore to touch anything
1 month ago my right nipple inverted and dimpled ( I did not know what this was until yesterday)
today both breast swollon and sore.
1 month ago my husband had to put bandaids on my nipple because I could not stand it to touch the sheets, this was my left not my right. the right one has inverted.
I feel very bad with extreme hot flashes, which I take 2 premarin's HRT each day for this but now they are not working.
Could this be anything else?

If I were in your shoes I would certainly would not wait until August for the mamo. I would insist on it now. Call you gyn and see if he / she can see you to check your breast and can mandate the mamo now. You need to find out what's going on and causing your problems. I'm certainly not a pro at this but if you feel something is not right be persistent with getting what you need, do you can figure out what's happening with your breasts.
As far as your hot flashes I can totally relate. I too was taking hrt prior to being diagnosed, but once diagnosed I could no longer take any hormones even though I was ER / PR -. at least with the HRT the hot flashes were live able, right now it's very difficult the flashes are awful. Just something i need to learn to live with.
Good luck and keep us posted, I routing for you. -
I am going to insist on a mammogram tomorrow, this is just driving me crazy! I have been reading about symptoms and they range all over the place (not one specific). I am not sure these were signs of cancer but as I stated in another post, my Mother was a smoker and died of emphysema and copd and cancer. Where her cancer originated is unknown because she was so bad they we did not put her through torture testing. I do remember she complained all the time about her breast being swelled and one day they looked just like an orange.
After researching this week it became very clear to me where her cancer originated. Also I have had two 1st cousin die of breast cancer.
The Dr. said I was high risk for several reasons, they did some type of testing on me about 6 years ago and said I tested positive for some gene...not sure what gene. We moved 1500 miles from that Dr. and I was younger and stupid and did not as too many questions.
I have been very stupid by not get my 6 month mammogram.
Thanks for your reply.

Definitely contact your doc quickly. You need to find out what is going on.
If the gene test you had years ago was for the breast cancer gene, that is called a BRCA test and the only place in the USA that does it is Myriad Labs. If the test was done, they will still have your results on file and can give them to you. You might need your doctor's help, or maybe they can work with you directly.
I hope you are ok, but get in there and check it out. -
update! Thanks for the advice about getting my testing, I will get on the phone tomorrow and see if I can get that.
I forced my Dr. into a mammogram today...yeah, glad they went ahead and worked me in, I live in very rural South Dakota and had to drive 3 hours one way to have this done but I would not take no for an answer.
The tech who did my mammogram did not tell me anything, but told me to slip on a gown and we immediately walk down the haul to ultra sound. I am not sure if they do this for everyone or not.
I spent about 15 minutes in ultrasound and they only did one breast...not sure why. I asked her what she found and she said she could not say but that she had just gave it to the radiologist and he would call the results to my Dr. who is 3 hours from the testing place.
I called my Dr. this evening and she was not in and will not be back until Friday, she is only here 3 days a week.
Not sure if they found anything at all, but IBC does not show on mammograms, What should I do now? All advice will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Shirley

Are you East River or West River? (It's a SD term.) I'm West River and as far as I'm concerned JTV CCI at Regional is great.
