ptdreamers - I've been using a Microsoft Natural Ergonomic keyboard FOREVER....but when I got my new computer, there was nowhere to plug the old keyboard in. So I ordered their newest wireless keyboard and matching mouse and UGH!! HORRIBLE!!! Took it back and got a refund. I did take a look at the Logitech keyboard, but the key placement is not the same as the Microsoft, and therefore, is harder on my wrists. BUT - just came back from  Best Buy with a "USB to PS/2 adapter", and got my old keyboard plugged into the new computer!!! YAY!!

3jaysmom - had to laugh about getting stuff done on Prednisone. Last fall, right before my BMX, I got SO sick with a terrible upper respiratory infection. I couldn't clear my airway, so went in for a breathing treatment and a Solu-Medrol shot. Well, I had been bedridden for a week before I went in, but as soon as I got home, I started cleaning the bedroom and bathroom in preparation for my surgery. At 4 a.m. I was in my hobby room, lifting up the daybed BY MYSELF, putting those risers under the legs. I felt like the Incredible Hulk! I don't think I slept for two days. Hope your stress levels are going down by now....hugs to you!

Hope everyone had a great weekend....

Blessings, Glad you found a solution. I was going nuts for the longest time trying to deal with my laptop and not being able to see alot on the small screen. Got a twenty inch monitor, wireless keyboard and mouse and hooked it altogether. What a difference.

I'm so excited! Just sold an old table & chairs we had stored in the garage.  We had kept them thinking that our kids would use them some day.  HaHa, what in the world was I thinking? They all said they didn't ever want them.  So I made $75.00.  I can't believe how much space they took up even though it was very small apt. size.  I sold them on Craig's List.  I was worried about using Craig's List, but it was ok.  I had moved them out on the front porch area after 1st lady called.  She came an hour later & bought them.  Yipeeeeee.!  Here's a cheer to decluttering in 108 degree heat.

Back from visiting my angel GS.  I have ben trying hard to get the house cleaned before DH leaves for Chicago on Sunday, so I can spend my alone time declutering.  Our alarm system was acting up so DH cleared out the closet where the main power panel was so the tech could get to it.  All that stuff is in the guest room, so I think that will be where I plan to declutter while he is gone.

I had FDIL over last night and we had a girls' night.  I was putting things in my fridge and Argh!!! I need to purge mine.  I have done some work in the guest room, at least the suitcase we took to AZ 2 weeks ago is empty and put away.

Well, I am moving towards so organization.  I went to Home Depot last Friday and purchased the basic wood for my shelves in the sewing room.  They cut some of the wood to length so I could get it in my sedan.  I came home and DH was surprised.  He doesn't have the vision yet, but I will sketch it out.  He was heading to Chicago and asked that I not do anything until he got back, and I complied.  But I could get it started whenever I want now.  I can't wait, but we are heading out of town this weekend, so it will have to wait.

believe it or not, DH helped!!i was asleep late last wkend, so HE cleaned out the fridge!!(k, didn't wash the shelves but what man thinks about that?) i must of crabbed, cause he came back with more odo ban, today, too...

we're deep sixing a shelvng unit, it too "deep" for our little liv rm.. he came home with the wood for shelving on the walls today.. there's hope! he's "resting" from his trip to Hime Depot, but later.. i hope!!!

went to the consignment shop yesterday, and controlled myself.. dropped off a bag of clothes, and bought only two tops!yeah! the good part is, found another walker i love and its Bright
Red.. nothing subtle about a RED walker lol...

so, life is good, just slow going...  congrats on getting more done in the sewing room , Meece.. its a YEAR now, i keep promising to get the sewing machine out, and make some foobs.. the goal is, to have a pocket, and foobs, for every cami. then, just take them out, when i need to wash the shirt, then back in, they go.. nice in theory, but can't motivate myself to sew. feeling insecure with my abilities with the neuropathy.. like most things, once i start, its ok.. but getting started   AAAARRGH   3jays

I decided to treat myself to an Oreck upright vacuum.   Special discount deal on QVC.   The old one was like pushing an armored car... and I almost prayed it would konk out one day soon.     The new one is nothing short of fantastic.

Too hot to do anything except stay inside and keep cool.  And I am one of the lucky ones who did not lose electricity.

3Jays,  I had bought my mom a bright red walker with every accessory I could find. I even bought a big oldsqueezie  bulb horn for it but my husband said the nursing home would kill me if I put it on, so I didn't.  Anyhow you got a hug bargain on that walker. Good shopping!

I think I have company coming the end of the week so I will be motivated to do something this week.

Have a good fourth, it is always so nice to come here and get motivated once again. Our baby steps really do add up.

    Hugs Ginger

FDIL is coming tomorrow to help me pack away stuff in my sewing room so DH can build some shelves.  Once they are in, we will unpack the stuff and put it AWAY.  I will take the opportunity to get rid of stuff as well.  Looking forward to this.

Well, when I arrived home one day with the lumber in my car, he caught on.  He also asked that I not start the project without him.  He knows if he delays, I will.  Off to start the porject!

The shelves are up, they still need the trim put on them.

    BEFORE:

    AFTER:

What you didn't see in the before was the piles of boxes and stuff all over the flor.  I was too embarrassed to potograph it that way!  I had to go back and buy more shelving yesterday, and now the unit on the right has more shelves in the lower half.

Thanks, I really like that it is now looking more like a sewing room than a room where I sew.  I can't wait until I get the guest room cleaned up now.

It is a real accomplishment.  I can actually get in there and now reorganized the closet in there.  So much to do, so little time...

Meece: WOW ! Thanks for sharing the picture.  It's really an incentive to work on my sewing room. The shelves are fantastic.  You can enjoy sewing and your new room both!

Meece,  I want to change my spare bedroom into a sewing room. My daughter has moved out and I want to sew more. I have oodles and oodles of fabric, thread and trim as well as accessories ie. scissors, rotary cutters and etc. I'm so jealous of your room.  I sew on the kitchen table.

                l.  How do you store your fabric?  How do you store your accessories?

               2.  What kind of sewing machine do you have and how do you store it?

               3.  How did hubby make the shelves and what kind of wood did you use?

First, I have a chest of drawers in the closet that holds small pieces of fabric for quilting, and some drawer have specific types of fabrics.  I also have one of those hanging shoe organizers which holds larger pieces of fabric, which I have separated by color.

I have a Husquvarna (I think it is a Saphire).  I purchased this sewing machine cabinet, I think from Arrow (The pic isn't of mine).

I went to Home Depot and bought the wood that has holes for the shelf brackets already drilled.

It is pressedwood coated in Melamine.  We cut the two sides 6 ft, then the tops and bottoms to the width we needed.  We drilled holes and screwed theme together.  I really was easy.  I thought about buying pre-made bookshelves and attaching them to the wall, but they were not deep enough, and they were the wrong width so I would have to cut them anyway.
